Ooh it could have been better for the Bears but this chance goes down!

It was a total miscue by Ben Green towards mid-on and Olly Hannon-Dalby tried to get around to it but couldn't cling on.

    Madsen c Cullen b Allison 0 (Derbys 22-3 - target 333)

Looks like Derbyshire's second innings is going the same way as the first.

Wayne Madsen shuffles forward but is surprised by extra bounce from Ben Allison and feathers a catch to the keeper.

Allison now has 3-6 from five overs.

    Notts 251 & 71-6 v Yorks 179

Jack White around the wicket to left-hander Liam Patterson-White scenting a five-wicket haul.

LPW has been in good form with the bat this season and more than once has added crucial runs down the order.

He plays out a maiden and his wait for a first run goes on. Terrific stuff from White.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:25 BST 26 September

    Harmer b ul Hassan 35 (Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129)

Just the 29 runs added by Essex this morning for the loss of the final three wickets.

Zain ul Hassan gets one through Simon Harmer's defences to complete his five-fer (5-14).

Harmer goes for 35 - more than a quarter of Essex's runs in a pretty shambolic effort with the bat.

    Karvelas run out 2 (Hampshire 128 v Sussex 244 & 301-9 – Sussex lead by 417)

A couple of quick wickets as Sussex continue to enjoy themselves with the bat - they've been smashing it around to all corners this morning.

Is there a page on BBC Sport that explains the points system? Every year I have to refresh my memory when it comes to crunch time! Apologies if you explained this earlier and I missed it.

    John, Kent

A maximum of 24 points are on offer for each team in a County Championship fixture.

The winning team gets 16 points, while the losing team gets zero. A drawn or tied game will result in both teams getting eight points.

Teams can also earn up to eight bonus points based on their batting and bowling performances in the first 110 overs of both sides' first innings.

  14. Postpublished at 11:18 BST 26 September

    Middx 255 v Northants 103 & 285-9

Middlesex will be rueing those two dropped catches off Saif Zaib on 85.

Having reached his ton, Zaib takes Tom Helm for two boundaries in an over.

Yuzi Chahal gets in on the act as Danru Ferns gooes too straight and the Northants number 11 flicks around the corner for four more.

    The lead is 133.

Matt Milnes bangs one into the deck, but it's no bother for Daz Ahmed who pulls powerfully to mid-wicket for four, the first runs of his innings.

Another 32 needed by Gloucestershire to clear the deficit.

  17. new ball

New ballpublished at 11:13 BST 26 September

    Somerset 268-3 v Surrey 422

Surrey should have a had a wicket this morning with Tom Lammonby dropped when on 106.

The visitors take the new ball and hand it straight to Reece Topley.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:13 BST 26 September

    Cox c Hain b Bamber 2 (Warks 372 v Leics 125 & 74-6 – Leics trail by 173)

    Another one!

Ben Cox is another batter who could have made things difficult for the Bears this morning but he goes with just two on the board as Ethan Bamber finds the edge and Sam Hain takes the catch.

I think any concerns the hosts had about this being a tricky morning to take wickets have well and truly disappeared and it looks like being only a matter of time before the Bears wrap up the win and with it the title.

  19. Postpublished at 11:12 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 128-8

Glamorgan turn to spin for the first time.

Mason Crane is on to see if he can winkle out the final two Essex wickets.

You would think the follow-on will be enforced when that does happen.

Living the dream at Cannon Hill Park Run

Had a dramatic morning... did Park Run this morning in Cannon Hill Park, which was wonderful. Though I did not enjoy 'Cardiac Hill' right at the end.

I have always done them before days of cricket, but knew I'd be pushing it fine to make it for the start of play at 10:30, even though the park itself is a stone's throw from Edgbaston itself.

So I asked the Warwickshire press officer yesterday if I could shower at the ground. You won't be surprised to know he looked at me like I'd lost my marbles. The Leicestershire press officer said it was the weirdest press request of the year.

But here I am, on time and washed in the indoor school, and with a time of 21:00. Even got the black turtle neck on to perhaps witness history.

Hello to Sid, by the way, who took this picture and asked if I was the cricket commentator who'd been yapping about it yesterday on air. He said he was hoping it would be wrapped up today.

After two early wickets, Warwickshire are heading to the title in quick time.
