  1. Underway at Canterbury and 200 up for Kentpublished at 11:48 BST 4 September

    Kent 238 & 200-3 v Worcestershire 217

Adam Finch is opening up for Worcestershire and Daniel Bell-Drummond sprints three with Sam Northeast to get their hearts pumping and the score to 200.

Northeast, four away from a ton, has barely a chance to calm down when Finch is whistling one past his outside edge as he prods forward.

There is still a bit in this surface if you put it in the right area, of course.

  2. wicket

    Chahar bowled White 0 (Surrey 42-2 v Yorks - target 185)

Well that didn't work. Rahul Chahar, promoted to number three to score quickly, has his middle stump sent cart wheeling out of the ground by Jack White.

Two wickets from White has got Yorkshire going this morning.

    Leaning c Westley b Harmer 0 (Essex 177 v Sussex 275 & 90-6)

And it is two in three for Essex's South African spinner.

If there was an element of good fortune about the dismissal of John Simpson, there was no doubt about this as a bat-pad pops up to Tom Westley at short square leg.

The lead is 188 with four wickets remaining and this match has turned quite sharply in this over.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:44 BST 4 September

    Simpson lbw b Harmer 0 (Essex 177 v Sussex 275 & 90-5)

John Simpson looks to turn this to fine leg but misses and it hits his pad.

Being generous you might say that could have clipped leg stump but judging by the reaction of the two batsmen they both thought it was going well down.

    Hard to disagree.

  5. wicket

    Sibley LBW 21 (Surrey 42-1 v Yorks - target 185)

Jack White makes the breakthrough for Yorkshire.

He gets a quick ball through onto Sibley's pads and has the former England opening bat LBW.

Surrey promote Rahul Chahar up the order in the hope of quick runs.

They need 143 to win. Yorkshire need nine wickets.

  6. wicket

    Montgomery c Kishore b M Taylor 65 (Glos 237 v Derbyshire 207-3)

Matt Montgomery helps move Derbyshire past 200 in their second innings but is then caught in the deep after attempting a pull shot that he didn't really get hold of.

Not the way he would have wanted to depart but it's been a strong innings and one that has moved his side to within 30 runs of Gloucestershire's first innings total.

  7. wicket

    Geddes lbw b Anderson 28 (Middx 247 & 120-3 v Lancs 151)

The Lancs skipper has squared up Ben Geddes and pinned him in front to give the visitors the start they wanted.

    Kimber b Potts 6 (Northants 227-8 v Durham 205)

    Bad leave.

It's an easy game from this padded chair but as soon as the ball left the hand of Matthew Potts it always looked like it was destined for off stump - or thereabouts.

Lewis Kimber, though, didn't think so and left it alone only to hear that clinck of leather flicking ash.

    Potts has two.

  9. Underway at Wantage Roadpublished at 11:35 BST 4 September

    Northants 225-7 v Durham 205

    We have play! Marvellous.

Ben Stokes, who was very good yesterday with 3-40 from 18 overs, opens up on day three.

He almost makes it four with his second ball - drawing Lewis McManus into a drive and his thick outside edge falls centimetres short of the desperate right hand of Kasey Aldridge at slip.

    Close.

McManus sees out the rest of the over.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:33 BST 4 September

    Kellaway c Gregory b Overton 6 (Glam 65-3, trail by 182 runs)

Bounce has done for Ben Kellaway here with Craig Overton banging one in that rises sharply and takes the edge to Lewis Gregory at third slip.

Kellaway made a half century in the first innings but, like Asa Tribe (40*) this morning, had found kickstarting his innings difficult.

  11. Glamorgan struggling with Somerset tails uppublished at 11:32 BST 4 September

    Somerset 441 v Glamorgan 194 v 65-3

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Hard work for Glamorgan under more murky skies as they aim to bat all day and beyond, with Somerset’s seamers having their tails up.

Kiran Carlson looked decidedly out of sorts against Migael Pretorius before getting a thin edge to the keeper.

Glamorgan’s early runs came from three Asa Tribe edged boundaries off Lewis Gregory, with varying degrees of control.

But one Gregory delivery kept low and a Pretorius ball leapt at Tribe.

Glamorgan will be hoping Taunton follows its frequent pattern of flattening out, but no signs so far.

  13. Postpublished at 11:26 BST 4 September

    Surrey 36-0 v Yorks (target 185)

Dom Sibley clips Jack White through mid-wicket.

It's nicely timed and goes for four.

Steady start to the innings for Surrey.

  14. 11:45 start at Canterburypublished at 11:26 BST 4 September

    Kent 238 & 193-7 v Worcestershire 217

Kent's sun dance has worked (if anyone did one) and we're ready to go at the St Lawrence Ground in just over 20 minutes.

The home side wil be thrilled, given their dominance in the match and their desire to keep the pressure on Northants for promotion.

Sam Northeast is a boundary away from a hundred too.

  15. Postpublished at 11:25 BST 4 September

    Notts 451-8 dec v Leics 23-2

Olly Stone and Dillon Pennington are giving Leicestershire's batters an early examination just to make sure they've not been affected by the delayed start.

It's Rehan Ahmed and Josh Hull doing their best to fend them off.

The visitors are yet to add any runs this morning as they look to avoid any early dismissals.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:22 BST 4 September

    Fuller LBW Suthar 1 (Hants 85-8 v Warks 398)

James Fuller tries to sweep the last ball of Manav Suthar's second over of the day.

He misses and his hit on the front pad to be LBW.

Hampshire continue to struggle as they have done for much of the season.

  17. Back on at The Ovalpublished at 11:20 BST 4 September

    Surrey 28-0 v Yorks (Target 185)

We're underway for the final innings at The Oval.

Dom Sibley and Rory Burns have added three to their overnight total.

    155 more needed.

  18. Play will start at 11:30 at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:16 BST 4 September

    Essex 177 v Sussex 275 & 90-4

Good news from Chelmsford where the action is set to get started in about 15 minutes.

Sussex will be looking to build their lead which currently stands at 188.

There are a scheduled 88 overs to be bowled today.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:15 BST 4 September

    Neal c Hain b Hannon-Dalby 7 (Hants 82-7 v Warks 398)

Olly Hannon-Dalby has his wicket this time, his third.

Andrew Neal edges low to slip where Sam Hain takes it.

Hants still 167 away from avoiding the follow on.

  20. Pitch inspection - 11:15 at Canterburypublished at 11:13 BST 4 September

    Kent 238 & 193-7 v Worcestershire 217

It's no longer coming down cats and dogs at the St Lawrence Ground.

The covers are off and the final big sheets are being folded and carried away.

There's one massive one to go.

Then there'll be a look at the pitch to see when play can start.
