    Simpson b Hutton 34 (Sussex 258-6 v Notts 240)

Notts pick up their second bowling point.

Brett Hutton is struggling with a bit of a niggle but he's still got enough energy to send John Simpson's off stump flying.

Simpson goes for 34 and Notts need four more wickets, with Sussex's lead already 18 runs.

  2. Postpublished at 17:16 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 224 & 237-2

Four runs to Nick Gubbins - who is across to Nathan Gilchrist for a short-arm jab through mid-wicket.

Skillful batting from the Hampshire opener.

Four overs left tonight and Leicestershire looking a little short of inpsiration at this point.

  3. Malik 'filling his boots'published at 17:16 BST 16 September

    Warwickshire 78-0 – target 133

    Kit Harris
    BBC Sport commentator

Into the base of the Cook Stand. Hangdog expressions all round from the fielders but that was a glorious strike from Malik who is filling his boots now in this simple equation.

  4. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 17:15 BST 16 September

Surrey are 55-2 in the 11th over, chasing a target of 304 to beat Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl. Sune Luus was the last to go, caught off Georgia Adams for one. The winners will play The Blaze in Saturday's final.

  5. Kent run chase beginspublished at 17:15 BST 16 September

    Kent 0-0 - target 140

    Here we go then.

Will Kent chase down the 140 runs they need for a crucial victory that keeps them in the hunt for promotion?

They've got two days and about 16 overs this evening to knock them off. Ample time, just don't lose wickets will be the message.

Lancashire will hope to pull off something remarkable to stop them.

  6. Postpublished at 17:14 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 83-6 v Somerset 201

A bit of width back of a length from Migael Pretorius and Dom Bess lets the ball go through to keeper James Rew.

Lewis Gregory has brought himself back on at the Kirkstall Lane End and his first ball is expertly steered to deep third by George Hill for four to the applause of the home supporters. Exquisite timing.

An angled ball into the pads is tapped away fine for one.

A play and miss now. Nipping away from Dom Bess.

Over bowled. 19 left tonight and Yorkshire lead by 94.

  7. Postpublished at 17:14 BST 16 September

    Sussex 254-5 v Notts 240

We're into the 81st over but Notts aren't taking the new ball just yet and Liam Patterson-White continues with spin.

Sussex are 14 ahead with five wickets to spare.

  8. 50 runs

for Sai Kishorepublished at 17:13 BST 16 September

    Glos 234-7 v Middx 326

Sai Kishore hits Zafar Gohar, one of his predecessors as a Gloucestershire left-arm spinner, down the ground for six and reaches 50 off 114 balls.

Kishore and Daz Ahmed - who has 59 - also have a century partnership to their credit now.

  9. 6 runs

for Zen Malikpublished at 17:11 BST 16 September

    Warwickshire 71-0 – target 133

Zen Malik follows up a four with a third six of his innings to move to 41.

He is playing like a man who wants this to finish tonight.

Rob Yates is on 28 at the other end.

  10. 250 runs

250 up for Sussexpublished at 17:09 BST 16 September

    Sussex 250-5 v Notts 240

Sussex reach 250 and that's the only batting point for a Division One side in this round of fixtures.

  11. get involved

Get Involvedpublished at 17:09 BST 16 September

As an Essex fan, my thoughts are that Hampshire could yet pull off a remarkable Houdini act and stay in the division at our expense

    Andrew, Chelmsford

If Yorkshire can get 120+ lead could be a winning score

    Darren, Hull

What we need is for Warwickshire to rattle these runs off tonight and then two days of solid rain across the country

    Bonnie, Brighton

I note the push for Craig Overton to be considered for international recognition. There is no doubt that with three centuries this year he would add to the batting strength but I am afraid his bowling is not good enough. When he did play his bowling average was over 35

  12. Postpublished at 17:08 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 224 & 225-2

Nathan Gilchrist gets a drive and miss out of Jake Lehmann outside off stump.

A shorter ball is short arm pulled to mid-wicket for one.

    Nick Gubbins defends.

He's now on 112 in a knock spanning 211 deliveries and just under four hours of concentration.

  13. Sussex into lead against Nottspublished at 17:07 BST 16 September

    Sussex 249-5 v Notts 240

Sussex have moved into the lead over Notts, steadily going along.

But John Simpson almost goes! He comes down the track to Liam Patterson-White and misses it. But crucially, wicketkeeper Mitch Hay also misses it as it spins sharply inside him.

    Sussex are nine ahead.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:07 BST 16 September

    Root c Thomas b Worrall 11 (Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 313-5)

A deserved wicket for Dan Worrall and Adam Thomas takes his fourth slip catch of the innings at the Oval.

It was a nothing shot from Billy Root, though, and he'll be disappointed if he sees it on video.

Glamorgan lead by 330 as Chris Cooke comes to the crease.

  15. Postpublished at 17:05 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 78-6 v Somerset 201

A late leave from George Hill - facing Craig Overton.

A short ball passes his thigh pad down the leg side.

Hill drives and squirts the ball out to point. No run and Overton looks decidedly unimpressed.

    Maiden over.

  16. LANCASHIRE 192 ALL OUT - KENT REQUIRE 140 RUNS TO WINpublished at 17:04 BST 16 September
    Breaking

    Stanley b Milnes 1 (Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 192)

Full, fast and straight from Matt Milnes to Mitch Stanley. And that's that for Lancashire's second innings.

Milnes, Khaled Ahmed and Keith Dudgeon take three wickets apiece.

Is that enough of a target to defend for the visitors? Gut instinct says probably not but it is a funny old game...

Kent need 140 runs to win and keep their promotion hopes alive going into the final match of the season.

  17. 50 runs

    Warwickshire 53-0 – target 133

    Zen MalikImage source, Shutterstock

A second six of the innings for Zen Malik off Zaman Akhter gets the Bears past 50 and brings the runs needed down to 80.

Malik and Yates have been largely untroubled so far.

There are nine overs left in the day should the Bears really want to finish things tonight - they don't need to of course.

  18. Postpublished at 17:03 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 78-6 v Somerset 201

There's still something in this pitch with the older ball as Dom Bess does a little bit of gardening between deliveries in the Migael Pretorius over.

Full and driven past Archie Vaughan by Dom Bess for four.

    89 in front.

  19. Postpublished at 17:03 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 305-4

Glamorgan need to push this lead as far as they can because bowling Surrey out on a flattening pitch is unlikely to be as easy as it was on day one.

Another full toss outside off stump from Tom Lawes and Billy Root puts it away for four.

  20. Hampshire push slowly towards chance of winpublished at 17:01 BST 16 September

Nick Gubbins has scored a vital century in this game

Hampshire have struggled all season with the bat, managing just four batting bonus points - but here, they are batting with focus and diligence.

Nick Gubbins has batted superbly for his century. It's been an innings of patience and fluid strokeplay. He has, unlike most batsman in this game, resisted the urge to move right across his stumps to field difficult balls, batting in a more textbook fashion.

He's been ably supported by Felix Organ, Toby Albert and now their top run-scorer Jake Lehmann.

Any more than 270 or 280 to chase and the Foxes might be in trouble,

Hampshire might be building towards victory here - and that might be a devastating blow to Leicestershire's chances of survival - points deduction or no points deduction.
