Sri Lanka’s two slingers, Eshan Malinga and Nuwan Thushara, have found the most swing in the powerplay this series, averaging 1.1° and 1.0°, respectively.

It has been sloppy for a team trying to defend 125. Even in the previous over a throw from the deep went through the keeper's hands. You don't mind when a team loses but when the basics let you down that is when you are in trouble.

    Runs, runs, runs.

Nuwan Thushara fires the ball down the leg side and Kamil Mishara lets it slip through his gloves - that's five runs to begin with.

Harry Brook then manages to whip a yorker off his legs for a four that goes fine, then reaches the boundary again straight away, sending the ball racing away across the grass in the covers.

    Bang.

Nuwan Thushara drops the ball a little short and Harry Brook pulls powerfully over the ropes at mid-wicket.

I think England have played very well, but the contests have lacked intensity we expect from Test cricket. Pakistan and Sri Lanka simply haven’t been consistent enough to put England under sustained pressure. Credit to England, but as a neutral fan, I can understand why this summer has felt disappointing.

I just walked out onto the balcony during the break. It is a strong wind.

  8. Eng 25-1published at 3 overs

    Target 125

Harry Brook gets off the mark from his second ball, clipping towards Dasun Shanaka at mid-on.

The Sri Lanka fielder messes up his pick-up and England's batters run two.

After just saying Donald had looked more composed and was playing the ball on merit, he has run down again and had a hack. He will be kicking himself.

Donald st Mishara b Ratnayake 13 (Eng 22-1)

Once again, Aneurin Donald is here for a good time rather than a long time.

He guides Tharindu Rathnayake neatly through point for four but then falls to the following delivery, attempting an ugly mow into the leg side.

He's off balance and gets nowhere near the ball, which allows Kamil Mishara to whip off the bails with relative ease.

Donald looked like he was trying to hit that squarer but he has hit it well. The second four was a really nice swing of the bat.

It is a hard as a bowler when you hit back of a length and are hit square and then go full and are hit. There is nowhere to bowl.

It would be nice for Donald to show to selectors he can go on to 40, 50 or 60.

  12. Eng 17-0published at 2 overs

    Target 125

Aneurin Donald finishes Dilshan Madushanka's over with consecutive fours.

He gets under a back of a length delivery to hit a muscular drive through mid-off then whips the ball through mid-wicket.

That can be awkward for the batter, when the bowler bowls from so far behind the stumps. I wouldn't have tapped before he bowled. It would have really put me off.

  14. Eng 8-0published at 1 over

    Target 125

Nuwan Thushara's over finishes with three singles.

The final ball is a full toss, which Jos Buttler knocks square.

Don't know why Pakistan or Sri Lanka even bothered to turn up, England haven't been tested at all. A very disappointing summer.

England's first run comes via a Nuwan Thushara wide, before a Jos Buttler edge skips under a diving Eshan Malinga at short third and goes for four.

    Thanks Matthew.

It's always a quick turnaround in a T20 - England openers Jos Buttler and Aneurin Donald are out in the middle.

The latter has made flying starts but got out fairly swiftly in this series, he'll be hoping to hang around a little longer today.

How many overs will this chase take England? More than 10? Surely they're going to do it comfortably, given the form they are in.

Mike Peter will take you through the chase.

England were barely tested, especially in the second half of that innings, and did little wrong. This was one of their few errors - and it was hardly Tom Banton's fault.

A sorry collapse there from Sri Lanka.
