You can see why England have gone to this plan. Again, Saud Shakeel takes on the short ball but he isn't in control, top-edging over Jamie Smith's head for a single.

Perhaps it will depend on how near or far Pakistan are from their target of 389.

Two little gleams of light for Pakistan have been Muhammad Abbas getting his wickets, and Saud Shakeel, the solitary run scorer owith 78.

It's the highest score of the match and he's still there. He's looked comfortable and played some glorious shots.

England are still very much in control but credit to Pakistan, who haven't rolled over as many would've expected, based on past performances.

Once again, Ollie Robinson has been the standout with figures of 4-24.

Gus Atkinson finishes the session with his second consecutive maiden, bowling to Ali Usman.

Pakistan have scored 87 runs from 25 overs this afternoon, losing two batters lbw to Ollie Robinson.

Shan Masood was dismissed for 26 after he put on 97 with Saud Shakeel and then Muhammad Rizwan went for just one.

The last England bowler with three consecutive Tests with at least seven wickets was Steve Harmison in 2003 and 2004 - one against Bangladesh and two against West Indies.

Before that was Ian Botham in 1984 and 1985. He had a four-match sequence with at least seven wickets.
