It is proving slow going for Sheridon Gumbs on debut but, to be fair to the former Surrey academy player, he will not face a tighter opening attack than Essex.
Gumbs has 6 from 33 deliveries which is not exactly flying but he is still there and does look quite assured at the crease.
The 22-year-old left hander, full name Sheridon Sohan Emmanuel Gumbs, scored 79 not out in a T20 for the Leics 2nd XI against Notts 2nd XI last time out but this is a very different test and pace.

They delayed it for two overs but Glamorgan have now taken the new ball, which is in the hands of Timm van der Gugten.
Tom Price is squared up by one which keeps a little low, but manages to jab the bat down on it in time.
He's gone to the next, though, feathering a catch to keeper Chris Cooke.

It's well wide of off stump from Lewis Gregory but Joe Clarke can only succeed in chopping it on as he tries to cut it away.
Clarke scored 92 for Notts against Somerset at Taunton but struggled early on here and goes for 36.

Dan Mousley plays on, off an inside edge against Hassan Ali prompting a typically flamboyant celebration from the Pakistan bowler.
A blow for Warwickshire who had been trying to dig in after lunch.
Ali then greets Sam Hain with a glorious delivery which beats the bat.

Former Yorkshire player Jordan Thompson, who's now with Warwickshire but not playing in this game, has suggested while guesting in the commentary box that the home side may have been too attacking arguing that they missed a chance to make 550 plus.

McCann doesn't appear to think he feathered that but the Somerset field and umpire certainly think he did.
Either way, Notts are now three down, still trailing by 241 runs. In comes Jack Haynes for the hosts.
