    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 87-2

Too short and on the legside again from Tom Aspinwall and Harry Finch cashes in, smashing another four through mid-wicket.

Things get even worse for Aspinwall as Finch smashes a lovely cover drive for yet another four.

Three boundaries in the over and that's done the scoreboard a world of good for Kent.

    Jewell lbw Aldridge 37 (Durham 377 v Derbys 89-5)

Caleb Jewell isn't impressed and we don't blame him.

He plays no shot and is struck on the pad by one which cuts back off the pitch from Kasey Aldridge - but would it have hit the stumps?

The umpire thinks it would and that's the opinion which counts.

  3. Postpublished at 15:12 BST 13 June

    Sussex 329-6 v Glamorgan 155

Tom Norton overpitches and James Coles whips it away to the mid-wicket boundary. The fielder managed to get a hand to it but couldn't prevent it reaching the rope. Coles is 94 not out.

  4. Postpublished at 15:11 BST 13 June

    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 79-2

Harry Finch is going along nicely for Kent and he moves onto 32 with a powerful pull shot through mid-wicket from Tom Aspinwall.

    Kent's lead stretches to 170.

  5. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 13 June

    Leics 60-3 v Essex 401

Sheridon Gumbs has made 19 runs from 72 balls with just the one boundary and, it is safe to say, is 'waiting for the bad one' and generally not taking too many chances.

The opener looks to have a solid enough defensive set-up but could do with scoring some runs now as his lack of progress is forcing his partners to push harder than they might want to.

  6. Postpublished at 15:09 BST 13 June

    Notts 119-5 v Somerset 310

Liam Patterson-White edges behind square on the offside from Migael Pretorius and it flies away for four more to the Notts total.

Pretorius understandably frustrated after that one, thinking for a brief moment he might have had Patterson-White's number.

  7. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 13 June

    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 73-2

Not a lot more than a strong forward defensive shot from Harry Finch off Jimmy Anderson but it goes through a big gap in the field at mid-off and Kent pick up three more.

The visitors are closing in on Lancashire's first innings score of 87, but with significantly more wickets in hand.

  8. 100 runs

100 up for Worcestershirepublished at 15:06 BST 13 June

    Worcs 106-5 v Middx 369

Matthew Waite is batting confidently and a straight drive off Tom Helm brings up Worcestershire's 100. The next ball is driven to the cover boundary.

Worcestershire have to get to 190 to be sure of avoiding the follow on although BBC London commentator Kevin Hand is convinced Middlesex wouldn't enforce it.

With two and a half days to go that makes sense.

  9. Postpublished at 15:02 BST 13 June

    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 70-2

Lancashire skipper Jimmy Anderson brings himself back into the bowling attack and strikes Daniel Bell-Drummond on the glove as it gets up off a length.

Just one from the over in the end as Bell-Drummond pushes towards square leg for a single from the final ball.

We don't know which is better 'Birstwith' or 'Nidderdale'. Great names.

  11. wicket

    Hill lbw b Bennett 23 (Leics 52-3 v Essex 401)

That has kept very low. In fact, did it even bounce? Replays say yes, but not a right lot.

It has hit Lewis Hill halfway up towards the knee roll and was always likely to cause problems.

    Charlie Bennett has the wicket.

  12. Postpublished at 14:56 BST 13 June

    Durham 377 v Derbys 76-4

Having got away with an edge over the slips off Matthew Potts, Caleb Jewell clips a full-length ball from Duanne Olivier to the boundary at square leg.

Two fours in the over as Martin Andersson glances down to fine leg.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:56 BST 13 June

    Boorman c Vasconcelos b Guthrie 17 (Northants 465 v Glocs 56-4)

Two wickets in two overs for Liam Guthrie as Tommy Boorman gets all loose.

This is angled across in an unthreatening way but the set batsman drives at it and edges.

Given the score, he might have left that but probably you have to be positive

  14. Postpublished at 14:55 BST 13 June

    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 68-2

Tom Aspinwall comes into the attack for Lancashire but his first ball is short and wide and Daniel Bell-Drummond dispatches it to the point boundary for four.

  15. Postpublished at 14:54 BST 13 June

    Notts 110-5 v Somerset 310

Nice cricket shot from Liam Patterson-White as he gently strokes a drive through cover off Lewis Gregory.

It doesn't quite reach the rope but the Notts pair run three.

Notts now trail Somerset by exactly 200 runs.

  16. Postpublished at 14:52 BST 13 June

    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 64-2

Daniel Bell-Drummond gets off the mark, pushing through extra cover off the back foot from George Balderson.

It slows up on the outfield, as it has done all match, but Kent can come through for three.

  17. Derbyshire in trouble in CLSpublished at 14:52 BST 13 June

    Durham 377 v Derbyshire 52-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

    Derbyshire are in trouble here.

Matthew Montgomery left a ball from Ben Raine, which crashed into his off-stump when he was on five. Then Wayne Madsen dragged a ball from Matty Potts onto his middle stump when on 14.

Luis Reece also fell just after lunch, bowled around his legs by Potts when he was on nine.

The visitors are trailing by 325. The follow-on target is 228.

Sheridon Gumbs has only played five List A games for Surrey before today

I have seen the shot pictured above plenty in the last 10 overs or so.

Sheridon Gumbs, on first-class debut, is a bit of a throwback, he's defending resolutely against very good Essex bowling. Moving across his stumps to stop the lbw, we've seen some textbook forward defences, solid leaves, and the odd drive.

His innings has changed - characterised first by nerves, now determination.

Jamie Porter and Shane Snater have bowled really well, with a nagging, consistent line and length that Leicestershire cannot do much with. Their 401 looks very good at the moment.

Particularly given there are a few demons in this pitch - Rehan Ahmed's dismissal was not dissimilar to Jacob Bethell's for England last week, the ball barely got up at all.

  20. Postpublished at 14:49 BST 13 June

    Lancs 87 v Kent 178 & 61-2

Four more useful runs for Kent to push their lead over Lancashire past 150.

Harry Finch is onto the short one from Tom Bailey and pulls it through mid-wicket to the rope.
