    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 159-7

Tidy from George Hill, conceding just a couple of singles in his first over of the day.

Kuldeep to continue from the Howard Stand End.

A short leg and a slip are in and George Bell nearly pops up a catch to Adam Lyth in that short leg position.

The ball drifts safely to backward point.

  2. Postpublished at 11:13 BST 10 September

    Notts 377 v Hants 290-9

Manny Lumsden has scored a half-century for England's Under-19 team this summer so he knows what he's doing with the bat.

He edges down to fine leg from the final ball of the 109th over, but Jake Lehmann turns down the single.

Hampshire have six balls to score 10 runs for this second batting point.

  3. Postpublished at 11:13 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 24-0

A good LBW shout for Ari Karvelas against Dom Sibley on seven.

Struck on or just above the knee roll and enough doubt there for not out, just outside the line of off.

A no ball follows and Sibley clips the next ball in front of square leg for four.

50 for Tom Abellpublished at 11:12 BST 10 September

    Somerset 240-3 & 363 v Leicestershire 157

Tom Abell joins Henry Nicholls in bringing up his half-century off Rehan Ahmed.

It is an over which goes for nine, but it is messy - Abell and Nicholls came through for two after a mis-field by Josh Hull behind the wicket at one stage.

It is a waiting game for Leicestershire at the moment. They currently trail by 446 and have only bowled spin this morning.

Ben McKinney guides a Tom Helm ball behind point for the single he needs to reach his latest landmark.

His 150 has come off 177 balls and it's the fourth time he has done so in first-class cricket.

This innings has given Durham a position of complete dominance.

  6. Postpublished at 11:10 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 157-7

George Bell is playing Kuldeep from the crease as late as possible.

The over ends with a drive and a miss outside the off stump.

    Double change.

George Hill replaces Ben Cliff from the Kirkstall Lane End.

  7. new ball

New ball at Derbypublished at 11:10 BST 10 September

    Derbys 118-3 & 300 v Kent 219

We are going to have a ball change, it looks like.

Harry Came sends Syed Khaled Ahmed to the boundary and, not for the first time this morning, Daniel Bell-Drummond shows the ball to the umpires.

On this occasion, they oblige and the briefcase of balls is summoned. They are currently assessing their options.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:09 BST 10 September

    Clark b Higgins 4 (Durham 252 & 253-4 v Middlesex 203)

A brief spell at the crease for Durham's Graham Clark.

He is cleaned up by an excellent ball from Ryan Higgins that nips back and makes a mess of off-stump.

  9. Postpublished at 11:08 BST 10 September

    Worcs 200 & 66-3 v Northants 289

Just 11 runs added in eight overs at New Road.

Northants skipper Luke Procter brings himself on to bowl as they look for a first breakthrough of the morning.

  10. Postpublished at 11:08 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 18-0

Ari Karvelas replaces Sean Hunt in the attack, conceding just the single to Rory Burns.

Dom Sibley leaves the ball outside off to see out the over.

Four runs to Rory Burns via one of his trademark clips to mid-wicket - facing Jaydev Unadkat.

  11. Postpublished at 11:05 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 156-7

A rare miscue from George Bell this morning, driving and missing Ben Cliff outside off.

A drive with a thick outside edge off the toe of the bat sends the ball to backward point for two.

85 needed to avoid the follow on.

Yorkshire turn to spin for the first time this morning. Here comes Kuldeep Yadav.

    Abbott lbw b Pennington 11 (Notts 377 v Hants 289-9)

    Dillon PenningtonImage source, Shutterstock

    Maximum bowling points for Notts!

Once again, Dillon Pennington finds a little bit of inswing and Kyle Abbott has no answer.

Umpire Richard Kettleborough sends him on his way and Pennington now has 3-59.

Manny Lumsden - just 17 - comes out for his first County Championship innings. Hampshire need 11 runs in two overs for a second batting point.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Henry Nichollspublished at 11:03 BST 10 September

    Somerset 223-3 & 363 v Leicestershire 157

    Henry NichollsImage source, Shutterstock

New Zealand international Henry Nicholls brings up his half-century for Somerset at Grace Road with his second six of the morning.

This one turns in towards him, with Rehan Ahmed bowling from around the wicket, and he powerfully pulls the spinner away over deep mid-wicket.

    Madsen c Singh b Mahmud 0 (Derbys 114-3 & 300 v Kent 219)

A third wicket for Hasan Mahmud at Derby!

The wily Wayne Madsen is dismissed for a duck - he will be disappointed with the departing shot which saw him tamely lift Mahmud to point, where Ekansh Singh waited with safe hands.

A couple of blows this morning for Kent, as they seek to restrict Derbyshire to a total and a lead they can chase down.

  15. Postpublished at 11:01 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 153-7

George Bell is forward to Jack White, opening the face and stroking through cover, beating Will Luxton to the fence for four. Lovely shot.

    That's the innings 150 in 61 overs.

Bairstow's missing a trick: why seam when spinners got most of the wickets yesterday?

  16. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 11:01 BST 10 September

    Lancashire 134 v Glos 212 & 136-8

Kamran Dhariwal takes a single off the second ball of Jimmy Anderson's latest over.

Anderson then induces an edge off Matt Taylor. It flies low and fast to Ben Walkden at third slip. He can't hang on with his left hand - it would have been an excellent catch - and Taylor scampers a run.

That brings up the 50 partnership for the ninth wicket and this pair may well be batting Lancashire out of the contest.

  17. Postpublished at 11:00 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 13-0

The Sussex new ball pair of Jaydev Unadkat and Sean Hunt have kept the Surrey openers honest this morning.

The scoring rate is barely a run an over at present.

Having said that, Dom Sibley picks up the first boundary of the morning (in the seventh) with a neat push down the ground off Unadkat.

  18. 6 runs

Postpublished at 10:59 BST 10 September

    Notts 377 v Hants 286-8

Fraser Sheat and Dillon Pennington are straining every sinew to try and pick up the wicket Notts need to secure the third bowling bonus point - but Jake Lehmann and Kyle Abbott are equal to the task at the moment.

Sheat begins the 107th over with a short one and Abbott pulls it away for six.

    Agarwal c Duke b Helm 21 (Durham 252 & 248-3 v Middlesex 203)

A first wicket of the morning and Mayank Agarwal's stay at the crease is brought to an end.

A good ball from Tom Helm sees him get plenty of lift from just short of a length and it catches the edge of Agarwal's bat and is taken high up by Harry Duke.

A good sight for any Durham bowler with their lead nearly 300.

  20. 50 runs

50 for George Bellpublished at 10:57 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 148-7

Zaman Akhter gets into line to play Jack White into mid wicket.

George Bell glances a leg stump ball from Ben Cliff fine for two as the cloud cover above Headingley starts thinning. He's on 47...

Make that 50! Bell gets a bit of luck trying to work the ball to leg and gets a leading edge wide of slip to deep third for four.

90 balls with five fours. His first 50 and by extension his highest first class score this summer. His seventh 50 in all with a best of 99.
