    Lawrence c Tribe b Kellaway 46 (Surrey 315-5 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan)

Dan Lawrence goes for another reverse sweep slog off Ben Kellaway but this time he gets a top edge and Asa Tribe has time to dash and get under the ball to take the catch.

It's been hard work for Glamorgan but they may now feel they're back on course for victory.

Lawrence was going for his shots. Will Surrey continue to chase this unlikely target or try to dig in for a draw?

  2. Postpublished at 13:28 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 292-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Not for the first time, Nick Kelly is hit on the side missing with a pull shot.

The Scott Currie over is paused for a little while Kelly is on his knees in pain. He will however continue.

He goes back to Currie off a no ball and pushes the ball away for one.

Too full. Ben Cox leans into a drive through extra cover for four.

The home supporters applaud. They believe.

Nick Kelly is going to get a bit of treatment. He must have picked up some bruises today.

Sussex 65-3 - target 76 to beat Notts

George Thomas wants to have a bit of fun for Sussex before they get out of here with a win.

He dances down the track to Liam Patterson-White and smashes it a long way down the ground for six.

Two more of those and we'll be done.

  4. Postpublished at 13:24 BST 18 September

Sussex 58-3 - target 76 to beat Notts

Five from Mukesh Kumar's over and Sussex edge closer once more.

    Just 18 needed now.

  5. Postpublished at 13:23 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 284-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

A couple of runs come off the Scott Currie over.

Kyle Abbott will share the second new ball as Hampshire enter last chance saloon territory.

Nick Kelly is squared up with a play and miss from the crease outside off stump.

A leg side ball runs away fine for four leg byes.

Abbott foxes Kelly with a ball that nips back, drawing a drive and miss.

Kelly gets a thick outside edge to deep third. Four!

Leicestershire have all the momentum at this point. 50 to win.

If Leicestershire can wrap up their chase, Surrey will then be safe to give the record chase a go with relative freedom

    Dave, Tadworth

A slim chance indeed for Surrey. Maybe the lunchtime conversation should be more about 'shutting up shop' and less about 'world records'. Exciting here at the Oval, nevertheless....I reckon we'll know the outcome of this game within 30 minutes of the restart. Let's see...

    Simon, Epsom Downs

Surrey are currently 309-4 in their mammoth chase of 612 to win against Glamorgan. They need another 303 runs...

  7. 300 runs

300 up for Surreypublished at 13:21 BST 18 September

Surrey 303-4 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

With Glamorgan becoming increasingly defensive the batters are having to work harder for runs.

Dan Lawrence goes for a reverse sweep slog off Ben Kellaway for four and Surrey are almost halfway there.

  8. Postpublished at 13:20 BST 18 September

Sussex 53-3 - target 76 to beat Notts

Not the most convincing from Oli Carter as he comes down the track to Liam Patterson-White and skews one into the off-side.

It lands just short of the fielder on the boundary and Sussex come through for a single. Slightly unnecessary risk really.

Three from the over and now 23 needed for the home side to wrap this up.

  9. Postpublished at 13:18 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 274-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

A single to Ben Cox driving Felix Organ to point and that's the 100 partnership for the fifth wicket with Nick Kelly off 158 balls.

Kelly celebrates with a four crunched through cover point on the front foot.

Now Scott Currie will bowl with the new ball.

  10. 50 runs

50 up for Sussexpublished at 13:16 BST 18 September

Sussex 50-3 - target 76 to beat Notts

Oli Carter clips off his legs to get off the mark from Mukesh Kumar.

Sussex reach 50 and they are closing in on victory. Another 26 needed to win.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Ben Coxpublished at 13:15 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 269-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Ben Cox gets there off the first ball of the session, back to Felix Organ to drive the spinner through the off side for two.

His fourth score of 50 or more this summer - and this just might be his most treasured one given its importance to Leicestershire.

    76 balls and five fours.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:15 BST 18 September

Procter LBW Abbas 51 (Northants 152-1 - target 349 to beat Derby)

Nothing in the morning session for Derbyshire but they strike straight after lunch.

Luke Procter is hit on the front pad trying to work the ball onto the leg side and is LBW.

A first wicket of the match for Mohammad Abbas.

  13. Chase resumes at Grace Roadpublished at 13:14 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 267-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Both teams are threatened with relegation - and the losing team today will certainly be in the second division next season.

The winning team would not be guaranteed Division One cricket in 2027 though. Far from it.

A thumping win with all the bonus trimmings would be needed next week. Plus a few results would need to go a certain and very specific way.

But baby steps and all that.

For now Ben Cox will face Felix Organ on 49 not out.

He's put on 97 runs with New Zealand international Nick Kelly - who is currently on 55.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:13 BST 18 September

    Tear b Kumar 15 (Sussex 49-3 - target 76 to beat Notts)

Nottinghamshire might not win this but bowlers still like taking wickets.

And this is a nice one for Mukesh Kumar, who rips Charlie Tear's off stump out the ground.

Sussex still need 27 to win. Notts need another seven wickets for an absolute miracle.

  15. Postpublished at 13:12 BST 18 September

Sussex 49-2 - target 76 to beat Notts

Liam Patterson-White is on to bowl the first over after lunch and his first over of the Sussex second innings.

The spinner starts with a tight over - just one run from it for Charlie Tear.

  16. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 13:09 BST 18 September

Sussex 48-2 - target 76 to beat Notts

We're back under way at Hove and you wouldn't imagine there is much longer left in this one.

George Thomas returns to the crease on 26 with his partner Charlie Tear, who has 14, and Sussex need just another 28 runs to win.

Nottinghamshire would need to take eight very quick wickets for a miracle victory.

It is very much looking like Notts will be longshots to defend their title going into the final game of the season, with Warwickshire in pole position as things stand.

As a Northamptonshire fan, its great that Somerset want to continue in the 0 club. It's cool, trendy, 67, skibidi, what ever that all means. It's the place to be.

Somerset doing what they do best-snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

    Michael - Iraklia, Greece

OK let's take stock... Just need Leicestershire to win today to give them something to fight for against the Bears next week and we need to beat Surrey at Taunton.... It could still happen

    Gloucs 77-6 (target 392) v Middlesex

The only hope now for Division Two's bottom side Gloucestershire is rain.

They might get their wish looking at this afternoon's forecast for the West Country.

  20. Lunch at Northamptonpublished at 12:39 BST 18 September

Northants 152-0 - target 349 to beat Derby

A near perfect morning for Northamptonshire has put them on course to complete the fifth highest successful run chase in their history and keep the promotion campaign on track.

Ricardo Vasconcelos has continued a remarkable campaign for him and has looked largely untroubled as he passed 1,000 runs for the season for the first time in his career.

Captain Luke Procter completed his half century before lunch as Derbyshire seemed to run out of ideas in the field,

Northants did suffer something of a collapse after a good start in their first innings so the job is not yet done but, alas for Kent fans, they're well on their way.
