200 up for Northantspublished at 14:24 BST 18 September

Northants 200-3 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

An exquisite cover drive from Ricardo Vasconcelos followed by a single brings up the 200 for Northants.

As long as Vasconcelos is there the home side will feel on course but they could be frustrated by rain which the radars suggest is on the way.

Surrey 359-6 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Tom Lawes smashes through cover-point for four off Ray Toole to move onto 19.

Ben Foakes is 33 not out at the other end. Surrey have at least another 47 overs to survive for a draw - or 253 to knock of for a record run chase victory.

Glamorgan still need four wickets to win.

  6. 'Up to Foakes to marshal the tail'published at 14:12 BST 18 September

    Surrey 354-6 (target 612) v Glamorgan

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan’s spinners struck twice just before the new ball was due, to give the scoreboard a more cheerful look from the Welsh point of view.

Dan Lawrence’s attempted reverse sweep off Ben Kellaway went straight up in the air, and Mason Crane’s recall for the 79th over saw him turn his first ball past the defensive prod of new man Adam Thomas.

Now it’s up to Ben Foakes to marshal the tail if Surrey have the desire to fight for a draw.

But Glamorgan have high hopes of ending a disastrous run of form with three defeats and a dodgy draw since the resumption of the Championship.

    Zaib c & b Randell 2 (Northants 188-3 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire)

Relief for Northants captain Wayne Madsen.

The over after he misses a chance against Saif Zaib the batter is out.

He gives a return catch which is well held by Brett Randell.

This may be turning Derbyshire's way.

  8. 350 up for Surreypublished at 14:11 BST 18 September

Surrey 351-6 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Big appeal from Ray Toole as he catches Tom Lawes' front pad. But the left-armer is coming over the wicket to the right-hand bat and it pitched a long way outside leg stump.

Lawes edges the penultimate ball of the over for four down to third before smashing a wonderful straight drive down the ground to the rope from the final ball.

And Surrey pass the 350 mark. Another 261 needed to win.

Northants 187-2 - target 349 to beat Derby

Saif Zaib edges Shoaib Bashir but Wayne Madsen appears to see it late at slip and the ball hits him on the shoulder.

It probably goes down as the first genuine missed chance of the day.

As a Hampshire fan, we deserve to go down. Nowhere near good enough this year. I hope Leicestershire stay up. Feel their penalty was harsh and wouldn’t have been given to other counties…

    Tom, Meltham

The gradual decline of Hampshire is complete. Russell Domingo has given no value to this team. A new fresh approach is needed with a focus on developing young talent is a must.

  11. LEICS WIN BY FIVE WICKETS TO RELEGATE HAMPSHIREpublished at 14:07 BST 18 September
    Breaking

Leicestershire 335-5 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Manny Lumsden's no-ball is clipped through mid-wicket by Ben Cox for four - Leicestershire win to keep their survival hopes alive and Hampshire are down.

This is the Foxes' highest fourth innings score to beat Hampshire on this ground, smashing a record set in 1977 when chasing 171.

Hampshire are beaten in the Championship by Leicestershire for the first time since 2012 and relegated for the first time since 2011.

They nearly went down the summer before but were reprieved by a Durham batting collapse against Yorkshire.

Leicestershire may well go down next week, but they still have hope. They'll need a thumping win with bonus points against Warwickshire and useful results elsewhere.

They also have the small matter of a One-Day Cup final against Middlesex at Trent Bridge on Sunday.

Nick Kelly will probably be there for Leicestershire despite the numerous body blows he received in his match-winning innings of 86 this afternoon.

Leicestershire 329-5 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Two slips in for James Fuller. Ian Holland defends and Ben Cox is sent back.

Width outside off. Driven to backward point to Joe Weatherley. No run.

Holland goes for a drive again and misses outside off.

The fourth ball is cut and stopped by Weatherley.

Fuller blocks a drive down the ground and tries to deflect the ball to the stumps at the other end. Ben Cox is safe.

Another cut missed. The ball kept low. Over. Five to win.

100 for Vasconcelospublished at 14:03 BST 18 September

Northants 181-1 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

Ricardo Vasconcelos continues what has been by far his best season.

He runs two after driving into the covers off the last ball of a Shoaib Bashir over.

This is his sixth century of the season, more than anyone else in the country, and the first-innings half-century was the only one he hasn't converted to three figures.

As long as he's there Northants fans, who have voted him their player of the year, will have reason to be confident they can complete what would be the highest successful run chase anywhere in the Championship this season.

At least they would be confident if there weren't reports of rain in the vicinity.

Surrey 342-6 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Ben Foakes shovels one through the covers off Ben Kellaway and it goes for four. He then picks up a couple more to deep mid-wicket.

Add that to four byes at the start of the over and that's 10 from it for Surrey.

If they go at that rate for a while, we might have a game on... they still need another 270 to win at 5.29 an over.

Leicestershire 329-5 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Might Ian Holland seal the win against his former club?

He goes for a big cut shot off Manny Lumsden and misses it.

He defends a fuller ball down the ground.

Holland is squared up a bit as he nudges a single to deep third.

Five to win and over bowled.

Can’t believe I support Somerset and Spurs. Contrary to all my training, I actually thought Somerset would do it this time…

    Oliver, London

Just got in and saw the Somerset result. We don’t deserve to win the Championship with that batting performance.

    Martyn, Bath

If Somerset are so consistent as has been said then how come they have never won the County Championship? Warwickshire easily have the best bowling attack in the league.

    Wayne, Barton-under-Needwood

It’s not over but Warwickshire in pole position now for the title. The cricket fan in me would have liked the drama of all three contenders winning but the Bears fan in me is happy with this set of results! Bring it home next week YOUUUUUUU BEARSSSSSS!

    Six to win.
