Surrey 421-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Tom Lawes swats away for four with the late cut off Glamorgan spinner Mason Crane.

Four from the over and that's tea at the Oval.

Surrey continue to frustrate the visitors as they look to cling on for a draw. The 191 runs they'd need to win for a record run chase might be a bit of a stretch.

Glamorgan still need two more wickets in the evening session to seal a double over Surrey.

After scores of 152, 161, 194, 183, 69 + 65 in our last few matches leading to embarrassing losses. A win here for Glamorgan would be a major result even if it looks like we are safe anyway.

    Mark, Swansea

Glamorgan fan here feeling increasingly confident of the draw to guarantee Division One safety. But skittling the last three wickets would be the icing on the cake.

    Jamie, Swansea

Jamie sent this before Surrey's eighth wicket fell. You might be able to get the oven on to bake that cake soon. Unless Surrey have other ideas of course...

Surrey 417-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

A wristy drive through the covers by Tom Lawes off Zain ul Hassan and it runs away for four.

Lawes picks up another single from the next ball to go to 41.

Five from the over and Surrey need less than 200 to win, if indeed that's even in their thoughts. Another 195 needed to be exact.

Just the two more wickets needed for Glamorgan.

Surrey 412-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Tom Lawes is struck on the pads by Mir Hamza, who goes up with a very enthusiastic appeal for Glamorgan.

The umpire is unmoved and Surrey come through for a single, which has gone down as a run, so there was bat involved.

James Taylor then guides it away for a lovely four behind square on the off-side.

Am doing a raindance in Maidstone. We will smash Gloucestershire next week but the batting bonus points will cost us promotion

    Durham v Worcestershire 32-1 (target 253)

The umpires are going to have another look in about 25 minutes, but it's not looking promising.

The rain has cleared through, but the light isn't great and there's more rain on the way.

Applause all round the ground for Ricardo Vasconcelos - who has played beautifully - and Calvin Harrison, who has been a little short of runs of late, has found a very good time to find a bit of form.

They've have done it perfectly, Northamptonshire.

100 runs a session is what they needed.

100 runs in the session is what they've got - and they need the thick end of 100.

Surrey 407-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Almost another wicket for Glamorgan as James Taylor edges off Zain ul Hassan but it narrowly avoids the first slip and runs away for four.

    Gloucs 118-8 (target 392) v Middlesex

The rain has moved through in the West Country and they're back out... but it's bad news for Gloucestershire who have lost a couple more quick wickets.

Ryan Higgins had Ed Middleton caught behind before Toby Roland-Jones got Daz Ahmed for 42.

    Roland-Jones has figures of 4-28.

Northants 261-3 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

Derbyshire have managed to take three wickets since lunch but Ricardo Vasconcelos is still leading Northants towards their target.

He's batted brilliantly, surviving one sharp chance, and carries his team's hopes.

Calvin Harrison hit Shoaib Bashir for six and four off consecutive balls in the last over before the interval.

But there is concern neither side will have the opportunity to press on as inclement weather threatens.

Surrey 402-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Mir Hamza and most of the Glamorgan fielders think James Taylor has nicked off to Chris Cooke behind the stumps.

Taylor nor the umpire agree and not out is the call.

In reply to Tom (14:47). Kent were in the same boat, I think it took finishing bottom of Div 2 to actually realise how much of a shambles we were.

Surrey 400-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

A single for Tom Lawes off Mir Hamza and Surrey pass 400 runs in the fourth innings of the match... and they still need 212 more to win. That is extremely unlikely.

What is likely is a Glamorgan double over Surrey. They need just two more wickets.

250 up for Northantspublished at 15:07 BST 18 September

Northants 251-3 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

In reaching 250 Northants have got the target down to double figures as they come towards the end of the session.

The new ball is due in two overs.

    Andrew Radd

Northamptonshire 102 runs away from a win that would put them ahead of Kent going into the final match on Thursday.

A draw would keep Northants very much in contention - four points behind Kent.

But a win would put them four points ahead.

Nabi b ul Hassan 10 (Surrey 397-8 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan)

That's a stinker for Auqib Nabi, who cannot do anything about it, but Glamorgan won't care one single bit.

It pitches on a length from Zain ul Hassan but barely gets up, almost rolling along the deck before clattering off stump out the ground.

Glamorgan are within two wickets of victory at the Oval.

Decent ball by Mir Hamza but Tom Lawes edges to third man for four and he's onto 34.

A no-ball in the over to go with it. Six from the over.

Feel like there is a minority willing Northants on, but this is going to be an anxiety inducing last hour at work. SHOE ARMY

    Dan, Windsor

It's been a brilliant season for Northants - winning the T20 Blast losing only 3 games along the way; and now still in the promotion mix heading into the last round of matches. The players should be in the conversation for international call-ups for the winter tours.

Northants nearly down to double figures needed.
