If Derbyshire get out of this with a draw... it would only be their third draw of the season.

Big appeal from Mir Hamza and the Glamorgan field as his big dipping inswinger catches Auqib Nabi on the pads.

If we could have a downpour in Northampton right now that would be lovely.

An impressive diving stop from Shoaib Bashir saves three runs off Calvin Harrison.

This run chase is hotting up. Lets hope the weather doesn't intervene.

Hampshire have had a shocking season it's such a shame. I hope we bounce back but something needs to change. We've been slipping for some time now

    Tom, Hampshire

Hampshire deserve to be relegated, it's been coming for a number of seasons. We just haven't been good enough, unfortunately.

    Clive, Chichester

Fair to say despite the extremely sad end to John Turner's career Hampshire's bowling attack could be lethal in Div 2. Just the small job of trying to replace Dawson and Vince in the batting to sort.

Surrey 381-7 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Harsh on Glamorgan wicketkeeper Chris Cooke as Ray Toole sends one a long way down the leg-side and there's not a chance anyone is getting near that... but it's still signalled as four byes.

You get the feeling the Welsh side are going to really have to grind to take these last three wickets that would give them victory.

Just a reminder to the chap in Andover calling for heads to roll at Hampshire, and calling the club a shambles, that Hampshire finished second to Surrey in 2024 and reached both Vitality Blast and Metro Cup finals twice . Not my definition of a shambles

    Stephen - Gosport

My worry is that if nothing major happens in the batting department this squad might not be good enough for the 2nd Division. Kyle Abbott must be bitterly disappointed that his herculean contributions have all been in vain.

    Graham - Yorkshire

Crushed by our relegation. Fully deserved. But the only way is up!

Just got in to check up on the County cricket results. As a Warwickshire supporter there is no way I could have predicted this week's results, unbelievable. Still a lot of work to do next week, but after what happened to Leicestershire, I'm glad they are likely to win today.

    Prit, Harpenden

Taking everything into account, Sussex has a fair shout of being team of the season, and I'm a Bears supporter!

    Jay, Birmingham

What are the permutations if points are level at the top by the end of the final round? Is it games won? Head to head? Or a typical cricket quirky DLS type method of calculation

    Russ, Glossop

Good question, Russ. If points are level, it comes down to tie-breakers which are applied in this order: most wins, fewest losses, head-to-head record, most wickets taken, most runs scored.

Northants 220-3 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

Ricardo Vasconcelos clips one from Nick Potts round his pads to the long leg boundary.

Calvin Harrison whips another boundary later in the over.

Northants appear to be stepping up the scoring rate, perhaps having been warned that the imminent weather may take time out of their run chase.

There's nothing like the feeling where it's actually confirmed you're going down.

This will be a really horrible moment for the Hampshire players.

That is a great win for Leics. It's one of the biggest ever chases in their history.

A magnificent 150-plus partnership from Nick Kelly and Ben Cox.

They probably won't survive. That is the fact of the matter - after that deduction.

But they have won their last game here at Grace Road and they have done it with real professionalism and real quality.

Timm van der Gugten has ripped Ben Foakes' middle stump out the ground.

It goes straight through the gate to break a seventh-wicket partnership worth 49 runs for Surrey.

Glamorgan need just three more wickets to complete a fantastic double over Surrey.
