  1. Sussex chase of 76 beginspublished at 11:48 BST 18 September

Sussex 7-0 - target 76 to beat Notts

Sussex begin their chase of 76 runs to beat Nottinghamshire.

Not a bad start with seven from the first over off Olly Stone.

George Thomas picks up a single before Tom Haines tickles one for four down to fine leg.

Haines then adds another two. Another 69 needed to win now.

  2. 100 runs

100 up for Somersetpublished at 11:47 BST 18 September

Somerset 101-9 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire

Jake Ball goes hard from Ben Coad and sends one high for a one-bounce four to long off.

Somerset pass 100. That will mean diddly squat.

  3. Postpublished at 11:45 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 200-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Maiden over from Felix Organ as Hampshire strive for a second wicket in the morning session.

Ben Cox plays and misses with an attempted cut off James Fuller.

    It's a no ball however.

Cox is back and across - this time missing an attempted drive outside his off stump.

He gets a single off the third legit ball.

Kelly is across his stumps with a scoop to leg for two.

That brings up the innings 200 in 67 overs.

Can't believe what I'm watching! Looks like it's going to happen again! The title slips away again! Unable to clean up the lower middle order in Tykes 2nd innings and just not being able to bat out a day.

    Andrew, Swindon

Mad that if Yorkshire could have just squeezed out 2 more wickets against Warwickshire and 1 more against Surrey that they’d be going into the final round likely top of the table. Small margins.

    Nathan, North Yorkshire

As a Bears fan, I'm feeling a bit conflicted. I think i deep down wanted Somerset to win the title

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:40 BST 18 September

    Pretorius c Bairstow b Hill 1 (Somerset 92-9 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire)

Migael Pretorius will not be the hero for Somerset this time either.

He flashes outside off from George Hill and can only edge behind for Jonny Bairstow to take yet another catch - his fourth of this Somerset second innings.

Really disappointing for Somerset fans, whose side are going down with a whimper at Headingley.

That elusive first County Championship title almost certainly will not be in their hands heading into the final game of the season.

Looks like Notts will relinquish their title. However, you have to admire Sussex, points deducted, financial woes, knowing a number of players are leaving, they seem to be playing with no worries at all. Hope it all works out for them, guess we'll see a young squad next term.

I think I'd like to see another wicket before lunch if I'm honest!

  8. Postpublished at 11:37 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 195-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

James Fuller falls over in his delivery stride bowling to Nick Kelly.

He's fine to carry on. Kelly is across his stumps pushing to point for one.

Ben Cox tries to glance a ball leg side and that is brilliantly stopped by keeper-captain Ben Brown.

100 partnership for Northantspublished at 11:36 BST 18 September

Northants 103-0 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

Ricardo Vasconcelos and Luke Procter put on 97 in the first innings.

This time they reach triple figures and Northants are off to a good start in what is still a formidable run chase.

A reminder if they make it they'll go into the final round of the season in the second promotion place, four points ahead of Kent.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Vasconcelospublished at 11:34 BST 18 September

Northants 99-0 - target 349 to beat Derbyshire

Ricardo Vasconcelos scores his second half century of the match.

The one in the first innings was the first out of six this season that he didn't convert to a hundred.

  11. wicket

NOTTS 193 ALL OUT - SUSSEX REQUIRE 76 RUNS TO WINpublished at 11:34 BST 18 September
    Breaking

    Giles lbw b Carson 14 (Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 193)

Jack Carson gets another one to cut in and Tom Giles is the latest victim to be trapped in front by the off-spinner.

And that is that for the Nottinghamshire second innings. They can only muster up 193.

Sussex will need just 76 runs to win and all but end Notts' chances of defending their Division One title.

I’ve lived in the West Country for 40+ years now and know how passionate Somerset and their supporters are to win a first County Championship and I’d quite like to see them succeed but as a Yorkshireman I’m loving how Yorkshire are going at this to win

    Ian, Sidmouth

Somerset being weighed, measured and found wanting here. Up the White Rose!

    Kenny, Leeds

Don’t give up Somerset fans, Jack Leach once helped deliver a miracle for England, just need Stokesy at the other end to do the business….oh!

  13. Postpublished at 11:32 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 193-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

A flashing drive from Nick Kelly off Felix Organ takes the ball to deep cover for one.

Single for Ben Cox pushing into the off side.

  14. Postpublished at 11:31 BST 18 September

Somerset 89-8 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire

Migael Pretorius scored a fifty in the first innings for Somerset in his heroic partnership with Craig Overton.

Jack Leach is his partner now. Leach knows a thing or two about holding up an end.

    Clutching at straws?

  15. Postpublished at 11:30 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 191-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Two runs to Ben Cox off James Fuller.

The second ball is driven through the off side and stopped by a diving Joe Weatherley.

Cox goes back to carve the ball off side. One run.

Fuller is round the wicket to Kelly, who feels for the ball outside off stump and misses one that nips away.

Single to mid on next ball.

for Ryan Patelpublished at 11:29 BST 18 September

Surrey 228-3 - target 612 to beat Glamorgan

Surrey batter Ryan Patel raises his bat to acknowledge applauseImage source, Shutterstock

Ryan Patel scores a single on the leg side to complete his hundred.

He was in the nervous nineties for a while and was very nearly out for 97, leaving one from Timm van der Gugten that nipped back and missed the off stump by a whisker.

It's Patel's first century of a season in which he's been hindered by injury.

The stars are beginning to align for the Great Bears

    Ant, Manchester

Last night, l feared rain today at Headingley with a potential Somerset run-chase on the cards. This morning, however, l am praying for rain in the hope of salvaging a draw to keep in touch with Warks.

  18. Postpublished at 11:25 BST 18 September

Leicestershire 187-4 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

A change of bowling now at the Pavilion End - where spinner Felix Organ will bowl in place of Kyle Abbott.

Ben Cox is forward, pushing leg side for no run.

A hint of turn here for Organ.

Cox is down the track with a drive to mid off for one. That's only his second run, having faced 28 balls.

WICKETpublished at 11:23 BST 18 September

Gregory lbw b Cliff 6 (Somerset 88-8 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire)

It's almost game over at Headingley.

Ben Cliff traps Somerset captain Lewis Gregory in front and that looks pretty out.

You can hear the cheers all the way from Warwickshire.

Somerset have completely imploded this morning. From 73-3 overnight, they've added just 15 runs for five wickets.

  20. dropped catch

Giles dropped on 11published at 11:23 BST 18 September

    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 181-9

Tom Giles skies one behind square on the off-side from Jaydev Unadkat and Tom Clark is racing across from second slip to take the catch over his shoulder...

But quite uncharacteristically for Clark, he puts it down.
