Gerald Coetzee hasn't had much luck today but he's troubled the Australian batters regularly with the short ball.

Having given Cam Green a working over earlier, he bangs one in to Inglis and it pops up in the air, but lands safe from any fielders on the leg side.

Neither batter is prepared to take any risks against Simon Harmer yet as he whizzes through another over.

On a very different note, the DJ at Newlands is playing a blinder. The atmosphere looks incredible.

  3. Aus 200-4published at 58 overs

    200 up for Australia.

Yesterday, South Africa were 203-1 but a dramatic flurry of wickets followed. There's still very little to separate the teams at the moment.

  4. Aus 196-4published at 57 overs

A quiet over from Harmer, just two from it, as Carey and Inglis calm down from the near-miss.

No Jansen after the break is an unusual move.

    Run out chance!

Ah, Alex Carey is a lucky, lucky man.

Josh Inglis dabs into the leg side and there's confusion between the pair after cries of 'yes, no' which results in Carey being stranded halfway down the pitch.

The throw comes in from mid-wicket and he's a gonner with a direct hit, but it's just wide. Nervy start for the Australians...

  6. Aus 193-4published at 55 overs

Bit of a wayward start from Harmer, drifting down the leg side perhaps as a result of the left and right-handed combination of this partnership.

Right then, after that dramatic end to the session, the players are back out there.

Simon Harmer, who inflicted a double-wicket strike of his own earlier today, resumes with Alex Carey and Josh Inglis in the middle for Australia.

Another gripping session in this deciding Test match, where both teams have had periods of dominance but neither are able to really seize control of the game.

Resuming after lunch on 90-2, Cam Green and Matt Renshaw dominated most of the session, though both had strokes of luck - Green survived a close call at slip on 22 and Renshaw had umpire's call on his side for an lbw appeal on 49.

But they remained calm and added 126 for the third wicket to frustrate South Africa even further, before Marco Jansen - who is having an incredible series - turned things around.

On the brink of tea, Renshaw nicked behind for 74 (and tried to get away with not walking!) and Green was caught at slip for 65.

The evening session will resume at 13:30 GMT with Josh Inglis and Alex Carey tasked with Australia's rebuild.

No wicket this time for Marco Jansen but it is a maiden.

For so long a session that was Australia's ends right in the balance again.

  10. Aus 191-4published at 53.4 overs

Alex Carey isn't going to do anything silly here. Two balls to go in the session.

  11. Aus 191-4published at 53.2 overs

Yorker from Jansen. His line is just off this time.

  12. Aus 191-4published at 53 overs

Graeme Smith is ticking on TV commentary that South Africa and Harmer have allowed Australia easy singles in this over.

But Harmer has done his job in getting the over done in time for Marco Jansen to have another.

That Matt Renshaw wicket was Marco Jansen's 100th in Test cricket. He is the fourth-fastest to reach the milestone in terms of South African bowlers, and it's an illustrious list of names to join.

    1. Vernon Philander - 19 matches
    2. Dale Steyn - 20
    3. Allan Donald, Kagiso Rabada and Hugh Tayfield - 22
    4. Marco Jansen - 24

    Inglis 0, Carey 0

Alex Carey ducks the last but that's Marco Jansen's second wicket maiden in a row. With Harmer bowling at the other end he'll probably have chance for one more before tea too.

    Beaten again outside off.

  16. Aus 185-4published at 51.4 overs

Marco Jansen is on it here. Alex Carey is pushes and missing. The Newlands crowd is alive again.

    Green c Harmer b Jansen 65 (Aus 185-4)

Time for another breakthrough, he said! One brings two for Marco Jansen and South Africa. We wondered why the big left-armer was not bowling and he's turned this game again on his return.

This ball doesn't do loads but, angling from over the wicket, there's enough to find the edge. This one certainly carries to Simon Harmer in the slips.

Renshaw gone. Green gone. South Africa back in it.

  19. Aus 185-3published at 51 overs

Are you a walker, Steve? I don't think I would be.

There are little more than 10 minutes before tea. Time for another breakthrough.
