I don't think Pakistan have done their research on the England players. It looks like they haven't researched the game enough, given some of the deliveries they are giving.
This is a great chance for Pakistan though, two new batters out there.

Harry Brook is off the mark with a quick single off Ali Usman but Pakistan are suddenly that much more lively in the field.
There's plenty of noise coming from those around the bat, who had been so flat just a few minutes ago.

It's been three really poor review decisions. Joe Root would've known that was dead. All three have been absolutely dead.
Reviews are so important, if you burn through them, it can lose you the game.

Absolutely plumb and Pakistan have got two quick wickets.
It's a shocking review from Joe Root. He was probably just stunned that he'd missed that ball as he went across his stumps and tried to whip leg side.
Once he did miss it, though, it was never missing the stumps. Three reds, important wicket for Khurram Shahzad, and England are out of reviews.
Root got a century in his first innings as captain, he can't repeat the trick second time round.

There's a spike on UltraEdge and Jordan Cox has to go.
It was nicely bowled by Ali Usman but a bit of a nothing shot by Cox, just fiddling at it outside off stump.
His confusion over whether he edged it comes from the fact his bat got caught slightly on his pad as he played the shot.
The end of a positive innings from Cox but he'll feel he's left a fair few runs out there.

Image source, CricVizJordan Cox found the boundary three times in that over against Khurram Shazad. He is batting far deeper in the crease than Root, playing all the deliveries from the seamer within 2m from the stumps.
As a result of being deep in the crease, Cox can capitalise on any missed length at Khurram's pace and score quickly. Cox has 29 runs from 16 deliveries faced from the seamer now.

That will make Khurram Shahzad feels a bit better - a maiden.
He hangs the ball outside off stump, trying to tempt Jordan Cox to go after it. The England number three does look keen to play some shots but restrains himself to let a couple go through to the keeper.

These two have just batted because the bowling has allowed them to play like this. If you watch Root bat, it's like he's in second gear but he's on 50 without having to take many chances.
Pakistan just don't have that venom.
