    Ali Usman is quite convinced he's trapped Dan Lawrence lbw and argues hard to convince Salman Agha to go upstairs.

    Lawrence was reaching forward for a sweep.

    I'm not convinced...

    Aerial from Harry Brook but the second ball of the session is clubbed through the covers for four.

    He's into the 20s. Dan Lawrence finishes the over with four along the floor into the leg side.

  9. The evening session is just a few moments away. They can technically play until 19:30 BST but given how gloomy it looks at Headingley today, I'd be surprised if the light holds up well enough to allow that.

    Still, they should get another hour or so in and to take you through it, here is Elizabeth Botcherby.

    You know with this bowling attack, you are going to get those loose deliveries, so you can be a little bit more patient. They aren't going to consistently hit anywhere.

  11. Perhaps the most frustrated man on either side right now will be Jordan Cox.

    He batted nicely to reach his maiden fifty, in just his second Test, but he will know that there was a century there for the taking.

    However, a slightly loose shot cost him and he fell to Ali Usman for 73. Still a good knock to build from, though.

    Richard @ 16.55 - he should certainly try complaining to the bar staff that the beer was "wet", I'm sure they will have plenty of sympathy for his plight!

    Muhammad Abbas’ trademark accuracy has been on show this innings, hitting a good line and length with 52% of balls bowled, which is in line with his career figure.

    His pace however is down. His average speed has been just 76.8mph, the fifth lowest average speed of the 53 Test bowling innings of his career.

    England are going at about four runs per over. Yes, Pakistan got the two wickets of the set batters but Dan Lawrence and Harry Brook have come out and are starting to settle.

    It's looking a little too easy for England at the moment.

    Big appeal for lbw from the penultimate over before tea but that's sliding down leg. Pakistan wisely decide not to review.

    That's it for the afternoon session, one that England will be happier with despite losing both Jordan Cox and skipper Joe Root when they were well set.

    Harry Brook and Dan Lawrence has added 37 for the fifth wicket so far to push England's lead to 68.

    Last over before tea and Pakistan bring in a second slip as Dan Lawrence faces up to Ali Usman.

    Lawrence responds with a slog-sweep, top-edged but the fielder is up so it's safe enough and he's back for two.

    Next one is dragged down and Lawrence pummels it through covers for four.

    You're always on the edge of your seat watching Harry Brook, especially after he's faced a number of dot balls.

    Sounds like you've trotted out those excuses before, Richard... But you might have a point because we've just seen someone else nearly encounter the same issue.

    This time the pint just about stays upright but it's a close call. We've also just heard that the bloke who did drop his pints was actually give four free replacements without even having to complain. Extremely generous if you ask me.

    The guy that dropped the beer should complain. He was set up to fail. Flimsy plastic glasses, warm wet beer and a cardboard carrier. The same thing happened to me at the Oval. I complained and got my money back.
