Surrey struggling to match Glamorgan's meagre first-innings total here.

  6. Postpublished at 17:19 BST 15 September

    Sussex v Notts 166-8

Notts keep turning down singles to keep Brett Hutton on strike with Tom Giles at the other end.

The plan is clearly for Hutton to try and deal in boundaries from here on out.

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 30-4

James Rew sees out the George Hill over with a single off the last ball.

    Kent 72-3 v Lancashire 161

Big appeal as Mitch Stanley catches Zak Crawley above the knee roll. The umpire is unmoved.

It's straight but they're both pretty tall fellas... looks like it would have been going over the top.

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire 119-6

An over there quite out of keeping with just how difficult it has been to score runs today.

Chris Woakes hits four fours from it - incredible! He has 16 in total and they've all come from that Zaman Akhter over.

Sam Hain meanwhile is on 45 and his side need him to stay in for as long as possible.

That flurry of runs by the way means that out of nowhere, the Bears only trail by 15.

What a difference an over makes.

    Glos v Middx 294-8

The frustration continues for Gloucestershire as Seb Morgan leg glances for four. The home side must have thought they'd be batting by now when Middlesex were 222-8 at tea but Morgan and Toby Roland-Jones had other ideas.

  12. Postpublished at 17:14 BST 15 September

    Surrey 103-6 v Glamorgan 132

Surrey's total passes 100 as Ben Foakes drives down the ground for four.

Bowler Timm van der Gugten got both hands to it but couldn't stop it and is clearly in a bit of pain.

Fortunately any swear words will be in Dutch.

  13. Postpublished at 17:13 BST 15 September

    Sussex v Notts 165-8

Back-to-back boundaries for Brett Hutton as he hammers Sean Hunt down the ground for another four.

But Hunt replies with three dots before Hutton picks up a single from the last ball of the over. Nine from it and Hutton keeps the strike.

    First ball!

Tom Abell is stuck on the crease as he edges behind to keeper-captain Jonny Bairstow.

Ben Cliff on a hat trick in his next over.

That was the final ball of this over - and Somerset are reeling.

James Rew in to replace Tom Abell.

Archie Vaughan misses a drive off Ben Cliff and the ball canons into middle and off.

Here comes Tom Abell to bat.

  17. Postpublished at 17:09 BST 15 September

    Sussex v Notts 160-8

    Effortless from Brett Hutton.

He barely seems to move as he crunches a drive straight back down the ground for four off Sean Hunt.

Notts need Hutton to get some runs this evening. He's onto 21.

It seems to be that groundsmen have done their best to prepare results wickets!

    Richard, Torrox

Will the pitch inspectors will be going to Essex v Warwickshire? A lot of wickets there ...

    Jason, Cambridge

The same is also true for other grounds...

Wickets everywhere - not a sniff of a batting point in Div 1. Are we playing these games so late in the season it's almost become a bowling competition .? Or are the batters just not up to it..?

    Ian, Doncaster

Safe to say that batting bonus points are at a premium. A few going to be left in the hutch.

    Kent 71-3 v Lancashire 161

A rare bad ball by Jimmy Anderson with a half-volley outside off and Daniel Bell-Drummond makes the most of it with a lovely cover drive for four.

The Kent skipper then picks up a single off the last ball of the over to reduce the deficit to 90 runs with seven wickets in hand.

  20. Postpublished at 17:07 BST 15 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 24-2

Henry Nicholls is behind the line, defending Ben Coad into the off side.

Archie Vaughan is forward to Ben Cliff, driving the bowler through the off side for two.

Leg side and clipped in the air leg side... for four, dissecting two fielders going for the catch. Nervous moments for Somerset.
