    Yorkshire 152-5 v Somerset

Jonny Bairstow gets three runs off Lewis Gregory, with a front foot clip through mid-wicket - and that brings up the innings 150 in 46.1 overs.

  2. Postpublished at 14:28 BST 15 September

    Sussex v Notts 75-3

Four runs for Notts from Jaydev Unadkat's first over of the belated afternoon session.

Two of them from a no-ball and a single apiece for Joe Clarke and Jack Haynes.

  3. Postpublished at 14:27 BST 15 September

    Leicestershire v Hampshire 171-9

Full from Josh Davey. Ben Brown clips behind square but opts against the run with number 11 Manny Lumsden at the other end.

Brown ends the over with a four, forward and across to loft the bowler through wide mid on.

Nathan Gilchrist is short to Lumsden who pulls for four.

Gilchrist goes full to Lumsden, who clips fine for one. Leg bye in fact.

Wide now and flayed through extra cover by Brown for one.

    Cooke c Foakes b Lawes 9 (Surrey v Glamorgan 124-9)

Three catches in next to no time for Ben Foakes and this one is the kind he could probably take with his eyes shut.

Chris Cooke attempts a big drive off Tom Lawes without moving his feet and Foakes does the rest.

    Yates lbw Snater 3 (Essex 134 v Warwickshire 7-1)

    Shane SnaterImage source, Shutterstock

Those three runs in the first over are all Rob Yates is going to get as he departs early on, lbw to Shane Snater.

That was plumb but Snater just had a glance back at the umpire as he ran to take his team-mates' congratulations.

Yates' shoulders droop and he has to walk back to the changing rooms a lot earlier than he had hoped.

  6. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 15 September

    Kent v Lancashire 106-4

Runs are coming at a slow rate for Lancashire at the moment and now Kent appeal for lbw against Matty Hurst.

But it looks like Hurst got an inside edge off Matt Quinn before it struck his pad.

  7. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 14:24 BST 15 September

    Sussex v Notts 71-3

Two hours after the players were forced off for an early lunch because of rain, we are back under way in Hove.

Notts will have been the happier of the two sides to go off at the time you'd imagine, with Sussex building up a head of steam with three wickets for 24 runs.

But it is the defending champions who will likely need a result - and a positive one at that - to stay in the title hunt.

A reminder that tea will now be taken at 16:10 BST.

  8. Postpublished at 14:23 BST 15 September

    Yorkshire 144-5 v Somerset

Runs are starting to flow for Yorkshire.

Jonny Bairstow sweeps spinner Jack Leach fine for four to bring up the 50 partnership with George Hill in 83 balls.

Two boundaries to Hill in the next over, forward to Jake Ball and driving delightfully through cover for fours.

  9. Warwickshire reply under waypublished at 14:22 BST 15 September

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire 7-0

No time being wasted at Chelmsford where Warwickshire's reply is already under way.

Zen Malik has cracked a four and Rob Yates has run three in the opening over.

    Abbott c A Patel b Gilchrist 4 - Leicestershire v Hampshire 159-9

No hanging about from Kyle Abbott - who gets off the mark second ball with four driven down the ground off Nathan Gilchrist.

He's out two deliveries later, trying to force a ball away off the back foot, edging high to Ajaz Patel at second slip.

Manny Lumsden is in at 11.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Wayne Madsenpublished at 14:20 BST 15 September

    Northants v Derbyshire 134-6

Wayne Madsen ticks his way over another half-century and is now being supported by Ben Aitchison as the pair look to push Derbyshire towards 150.

Luis Reece and Brooke Guest went very quickly shortly into the afternoon session but the signs are that Madsen has settled things down again.

  12. Bamber leading the way for Bearspublished at 14:17 BST 15 September

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

6-26 for Bamber who is now the Division One leading wicket taker with 59, overtaking Kyle Abbott for now and he once again has led the way in seriously undermining their opponents.

That’s five innings in a row where Warwickshire have completely shattered their opponents' top order.

We don’t yet know how good a score 134 is but Bamber’s display of control was the sign of man finishing the season very strongly.

    Van der Gugten c Foakes b Fisher 0 (Surrey v Glamorgan 121-8)

He flies to the left, he flies to the right - he catches them no matter what the direction.

A double wicket maiden by Matt Fisher comes to an end as Timm van der Gugten is superbly caught in front of first slip by keeper Ben Foakes.

Fisher, though, look in some discomfort and goes off with the Surrey physio.

  14. Postpublished at 14:16 BST 15 September

    Yorkshire 132-5 v Somerset

    Jonny BairstowImage source, SWPix

Four runs to Jonny Bairstow with a lovely flow of the bat through mid off after being dropped by James Rew in the previous Jake Ball over.

He was on 27 at the time. He now has 32.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 14:16 BST 15 September

Middlesex's Caleb Falconer has departed one run short of a maiden first-class half-century, caught at slip off Daz Ahmed, and they are 160-5 in the 44th over.

Durham have progressed to 199-4 in the 44th against Worcestershire following the dismissal of Ben Stokes. Mayank Agarwal is 63 not out and has now been joined by Colin Ackermann.

    Fuller c Cox b Gilchrist 6 - Leicestershire v Hampshire 155-8

Short and wide from Nathan Gilchrist.

James Fuller rocks back for an almighty cut from the crease and miscues to the keeper.

    Kyle Abbott is in.

  17. Play to resume at 14:25 BST at Hovepublished at 14:14 BST 15 September

    Sussex v Notts 71-3

    Good news from Hove.

After a pitch inspection, the umpires have given the all-clear for play to resume at 14:25 BST.

Tea will be taken at 16:10 BST and there are 56 overs left in the day.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:12 BST 15 September

    Crane c Thomas b Fisher 1 (Surrey v Glamorgan 121-7)

Glamorgan well and truly on the slide now.

An away swinger from Matt Fisher, Mason Crane didn't need to play at it, but is lured into doing so.

The result - a thick edge to Adam Thomas at slip, and he takes his third catch of the innings.

  19. Postpublished at 14:11 BST 15 September

    Kent v Lancashire 105-4

Josh Bohannon tries to go through the leg-side from Matt Quinn but doesn't connect well and it's aerial... but it drops just short of Daniel Bell-Drummond at mid-wicket.

Bohannon is living dangerously after he was dropped at fourth slip a short while ago by Keith Dudgeon.

A maiden over in the end for Quinn.

  20. Stokes and Agarwal partnership comes to an endpublished at 14:09 BST 15 September

    Durham 179-4 v Worcestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have been taking the attack to the Worcestershire bowlers and the visitors are suffering as a result.

Ben Stokes and Mayank Agarwal put on 100 in 90 balls, but they have really accelerated after lunch.

They have taken advantage of some loose bowling too, but have also chanced their arms at times - particularly Stokes who has been going down the track regularly.

There have also been 18 fours in the last 10 overs, including four in a row in the over before lunch.

Stokes got to 50 in 39 balls. It included 10 fours but he's now got himself out lbw to Ben Gibbon trying to play another attacking shot. Living by the sword and dying by the sword.
