    Notts 264-6 v Hampshire

The third session of this so far, uninterrupted match begins at Trent Bridge.

Liam Patterson-White and Fraser Sheat are back at the crease for Notts, while Hampshire really need to be batting before the close.

  2. Back on for the evening session at Derbypublished at 16:03 BST 8 September

    Derbys 190-7 v Kent

Still no overs lost in the day so they are playing the conventional 32 over evening session, great to see in an otherwise rain and bad light affected September Day One elsewhere.

Khaled Ahmed bowling to top runscorer Martin Andersson who is 69*.

Kamran Dhariwal guides one low and wide of second slip from Ben Walkden and down to third for four runs.

The Gloucestershire total is into three figures and Dhariwal and Miles Hammond have now added 36.

    Lammonby 74 c Gumbs b Green 74 (Leicestershire v Somerset 181-1)

Another out between 50-100 from Tom Lammonby, though that's not the worst problem to have, most previous Somerset openers would be delighted to be able to cruise past 50 as Lammonby has so often done.

    Brilliant opening partnership.

He just top edges a glide to third and Sheridon Gumbs takes a good diving catch.

Right-hander Archie Vaughan in at three with Jake Ball in for Lewis Goldsworthy in this game, so splits up Josh Thomas from the next two left-handers Henry Nicholls and James Rew.

  5. Postpublished at 16:01 BST 8 September

    Durham 192-9 v Middlesex

What a shot! Driven through cover by Ben Raine on the up for four.

That's his fourth boundary and this last-wicket stand is now worth a useful 19.

Frustration for bowler Seb Morgan. Raine gets a single off the fourth and Callum Parkinson is able to leave a wider ball outside off.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:59 BST 8 September

    Hose c Kimber b Harrison 45 (Worcs 122-5 v Northants)

Adam Hose departs to the final ball before tea at New Road. He tries to cut a ball from Calvin Harrison which is too close to him and edges to Louis Kimber at slip.

Just one substantial partnership in the Worcestershire first innings so far, with Hose and Jake Libby - who made 55 before falling lbw to Luke Procter - putting on 82 for the third wicket.

Procter has been the pick of the six bowlers used by Northants, taking 3-33 from 13 overs so far.

And that after he decided to put the Pears in after winning the toss following a del;ayed start.

  7. Postpublished at 15:58 BST 8 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 2-0

Following Glamorgan's brief first innings, they are back out for the evening session at Sophia Gardens.

Timm van der Gugten will bow the first over of Warwickshire's reply. Rob Yates is quickly under way with a single, which is followed by a leg bye.

  8. Postpublished at 15:58 BST 8 September

    Durham 187-9 v Middlesex

A big swing from Ben Raine to Tom Helm - who is bowling around the wicket.

    No contact though.

The third ball is chopped away off the back foot to deep third for four.

The good, the bad and the ugly in two balls - though not in that order.

The ball has disappeared into the concourse but Middlesex have it now.

They're not happy in Wales either.....after their lowest total for five years.....

Glam win toss and bat??? Rain all morning, juicy green top. Perfect for bowling. Maybe big meeting in club the other night, was we want relegation? Feel very sorry for loyal supporters. Recent performances are abysmal.

    Nathan, North Wales

What’s happened to Glamorgan’s batsmen? Before the break for the Hundred everything was going well, but now nobody can get a score. Looks like 3 defeats in 4 games, the draw a beneficiary of rain. Worrying times.

    Durham 186-9 v Middlesex

Ben Raine guides a Tom Helm ball down to the third man rope for another boundary.

He's a very handy player to have coming in at number 10. And what's more, he's also hit the ball into a spot where it is requiring a good handful of people to try to locate it from near a cover and an empty stand.

They're not happy in the Broad Acres, with Yorkshire 147-5 against Essex.....

Whiteman, 3 ducks in a row for Yorkshire as a number 3 batsman. Is that a nursery rhyme or a pantomime. Not good enough.

    Dan Huddersfield

Yorkshire capitulation yet again Bairstow needs replacing asap otherwise relegation will be on the cards.

    Chris, Middlesbrough

Jonny, thanks for everything but your heart clearly isn't in red ball cricket anymore. Time to step aside at the end of the season, Bess for captain please

    Yorkshire 147-5 v Essex

We had been due to start the evening session - but the weather has got in the way.

Frustrating for Essex in particular - after seizing momentum this afternoon.

  13. Second, but Evening Session at Grace Roadpublished at 15:49 BST 8 September

    Leicestershire v Somerset 174-0

Still 39 overs to come today, remember we only started at 1.10 with 72 overs scheduled after the morning session passed by with covers over the wicket.

Former England U19 seamer Alex Green opens up.

Play resumes at Old Traffordpublished at 15:49 BST 8 September

    Lancashire v Glos 94-4

Kamran Dhariwal greets Jimmy Anderson with successive fours to get the evening session underway in Trafford.

The first is a shot up and over slips to the vacant area over the top but the second is a fine drive from a full ball outside off-stump.

A positive start from Dhariwal to move into double figures.

  15. Postpublished at 15:48 BST 8 September

    Durham 181-9 v Middlesex

Successive fours for Ben Raine, pulling Navyaa Sharma behind square leg and driving through the off side.

Navyaa Sharma gets one to bounce awkwardly to Ben Raine, who jabs it down into the surface.

He gets a single to deep square leg to keep the strike and Seb Morgan will continue from the Lumley End.

  16. Postpublished at 15:48 BST 8 September

    Durham 181-9 v Middlesex

A glorious shot through cover from left-hander Ben Raine as he channels his inner David Gower!

That comes after pulling the previous ball fine for another boundary.

Raine then plays out three dots before guiding the last ball deep into the offside for a single to make that nine off the over.

  17. Postpublished at 15:43 BST 8 September

    Durham 172-9 v Middlesex

All runs vital at this stage and in this sort of total as Ben Raine and Callum Parkinson try to push the Durham score as close to 200 as possible.

Seb Morgan has 4-48 as he seeks a second five-wicket haul.

  18. Tea at Derbypublished at 15:42 BST 8 September

    Derbys 190-7 v Kent

More wickets for the Bangladesh seam duo Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed in the afternoon session and offie Bertie Foreman added one too.

Kent were made to work hard for their win v Worcestershire last time out and Derbyshire, or Martin Andersson particularly, has not rolled over here for the team currently hottest on Durham's heels atop Division Two.

  19. Latest from New Roadpublished at 15:41 BST 8 September

Worcestershire have lost a fourth wicket against Northants, with skipper Brett D'Oliveira caught off Luke Procter for two. Henry Cullen has now joined Adam Hose - who is 41 not out - and the Pears are 110-4 in the 40th over.

  20. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:41 BST 8 September

    Notts 262-6 v Hampshire

    Joe ClarkeImage source, Shutterstock

No doubt who will be happier with the afternoon session at Trent Bridge where Notts have added 154 runs.

Joe Clarke's 105 was the highlight, while Mitch Hay contributed a valuable 49 on debut.

If Hampshire had not removed those in the last few overs before tea, they would have been staring down the barrel.

But if they can run through Notts' longish tail and then bat well, they can still claim to have had a good day.

The defending champions have one batting point and they would love one or two more if they can get them.
