    Notts 377 v Hampshire 1-0

Felix Organ pinches a single off the last ball of Olly Stone's first over.

Hampshire's score is up and running and Organ will now face Dillon Pennington.

  2. Kent start batting at Derbypublished at 17:53 BST 8 September

    Derbys 300 v Kent 0-0

Ben Aitchison opens the bowling to Ben Compton, with Zak Crawley at the non-strikers' end.

Six overs in glorious September evening sunshine to come.

  3. Four overs to batpublished at 17:52 BST 8 September

    Notts 377 v Hampshire 0-0

Hampshire openers Nick Gubbins and Felix Organ make their way to the middle for what can only be described as a thankless session.

Only four overs to bat, but Dillon Pennington and Olly Stone to face.

    Good luck!

300 for Somersetpublished at 17:52 BST 8 September

    Leicestershire v Somerset 305-6

A soft-handed edge first ball past the cordon gets Lewis Gregory onto a 400 strike-rate, but he won't care about that, it is that it hit turf not fingers and that then it hit the cushion that is most important.

One more crucial point for Somerset.

Four third ball, pulled by Gregory too.

    Hollman c Ackermann b Carse 10 - Durham 252 v Middlesex 36-1

Brydon Carse strikes in his third over and it's a beauty.

Angled across Luke Hollman, who tries to leave it but gets a thin edge through to Colin Ackermann at third slip.

    Nathan Fernandes is in next.

  6. Postpublished at 17:51 BST 8 September

    Durham 252 v Middlesex 36-0

Maiden over from Brydon Carse, who has been deploying some yorkers.

Four more runs to Sam Robson - back and across to Ben Raine, steering the bowler wide of the slip cordon and through to deep third.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:50 BST 8 September

    Overton c Tattersall b Mike 9 (Leicestershire v Somerset 297-6)

A wide from Ben Mike makes it 39 extras donated by Leicestershire today.

Not good enough for a Division One side fighting to stay in it.

But next ball Mike has Somerset's player of the season in waiting caught behind by substitute wicketkeeper Johnny Tattersall.

    What a turnaround since tea.

Skipper Lewis Gregory to try and get Somerset to 300 and a second batting bonus point with plenty of overs left, if they can keep wickets in hand, to score multiple more.

  8. 50 runs

for Henry Cullenpublished at 17:47 BST 8 September

    Worcs 192-9 v Northants

Big moment for Henry Cullen, who reaches a maiden first-class 50 off 92 balls by dabbing a single off Ben Sanderson.

He is one of only three batters to reach double figures in this innings and it has been a fine effort on his part.

He celebrates by lofting a Yuzi Chahal full toss in the next over over mid-on for six.

  9. Postpublished at 17:47 BST 8 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 92-2

Timm van der Gugten is short and Will Young's pull smacks into the helmet of Asa Tribe at short leg.

The ball bounces up but Chris Cooke cannot cover the ground to take the catch. Tribe is ok but concussion protocols will now have to be followed.

  10. Postpublished at 17:45 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 228-5 v Essex

Matthew Revis is solidly behind the line of the ball, playing defensively to Mitch Killeen.

We're down to the final 10 overs of the day.

Revis will keep the strike with an inside edge pushing forward into the leg side for one.

The sixth wicket stand is worth 89. Honours even?

  11. wicket

WICKET & Inningspublished at 17:44 BST 8 September

Bashir lbw Mahmud 0 (Derbys 300 AO v Kent)

How often do we see that? A milestone reached, then a wicket next ball, almost as if they switch off, but Shoaib Bashir was trusted with two balls remaining in the over to ensure the 300 was reached first with that single.

Shoaib Bashir only had to face two balls in the end, whilst putting on 17 crucial runs for the final wicket. Great farming and whacking to 129* off 190 balls for Martin Andersson.

Six overs for Kent to bat this evening.

  12. wicket

NOTTS ALL OUT FOR 377published at 17:44 BST 8 September

    Patterson-White c&b Currie 92 (Notts 377 all out v Hampshire)

Liam Patterson-White gets to 92, but there will be no century for the Notts all-rounder.

He goes for another big hit off Scott Currie, but it goes higher than handsome and the bowler shouts to the fielders and does the job himself, as he takes the catch.

A fourth wicket for Currie and his best figures for Hampshire of 4-56.

But Notts will be more than happy with 377 after being asked to bat this morning and slipping to 20-3.

Joe Clarke's 106 set the innings up and Patterson-White's 92 has given them an excellent first-innings score with three batting points.

  13. Postpublished at 17:43 BST 8 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 91-2

Easy first boundary for Sam Hain, who turns Ben Kellaway through the leg-side. There are 14 more overs scheduled after this one.

  14. 300 runs

300 for Derbyshirepublished at 17:42 BST 8 September

    Derbys 300-9 v Kent

Great effort from Martin Andersson and Shoaib Bashir.

This point did not seem achievable until that Brett Randell partnership.

All of Derbyshire's tail deserve credit.

Andersson takes the single fourth ball off Hasan Mahmud's latest over, Derbyshire's 88th.

  15. Postpublished at 17:42 BST 8 September

    Durham 252 v Middlesex 27-0

This has not been a good start with the ball for Durham.

Brydon Carse delivers a no ball to Luke Hollman - who drives and gets an inside edge well wide of the keeper for four.

That was a near perfect straight line behind the stumps.

There's yet more punishment in the third over as Sam Robson slashes a full ball from Ben Raine behind backward point for four.

He gets three off the next ball and Hollman gets four more with a neat push through cover point on the back foot.

    27 runs off three overs.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:39 BST 8 September

Nicholls run out Gilchrist 26 (Leicestershire v Somerset 277-5)

Wow is the pressure of a potential first title in 151 years getting to Somerset here?

A bizarre dismissal of one of the world's finest first-class players.

Henry Nicholls drives one through the extra cover pocket, should be an easy two to deep cover's left hand.

They hesitate and then it all looks very village, both in almost nomansland, a wicket gifted to Leicestershire.

Nicholls was looking so comfortable against the spinners again, including his Black Caps teammate Ajaz Patel who he hit that should-be-two off.

PCA key man Craig Overton in at seven.

  17. Postpublished at 17:39 BST 8 September

    Notts 372-9 v Hampshire

Now Liam Patterson-White is got his foot on the accelerator!

That is a fine low pull shot off Eddie Jack that beats the two fielders on the legside fence.

And now six! No more than a legside flick that he picks up over long leg for a maximum and he's up to 88.

  18. Postpublished at 17:37 BST 8 September

    Worcs 183-9 v Northants

Defiant batting by Henry Cullen, who hammers Yuzi Chahal's leg-spin through the covers for four. The Worcestershire wicketkeeper pushes a single to end the over and is 47 not out.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Matthew Revispublished at 17:37 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 219-5 v Essex

Matthew Revis clips Mitch Killeen to fine leg - and that stroke takes him to a half century.

His second 50 of the season for Yorkshire.

This one comes in 70 balls with nine fours.

  20. Postpublished at 17:35 BST 8 September

    Derbys 294-9 v Kent

300 and two batting points is on!

This is a particularly entertaining period, and a run out has to be on the cards too as Shoaib Bashir could be run ragged.

Martin Andersson understandably has most fielders on the rope on 119*.

He does really well to find two, four and four the first three balls of Khaled Ahmed's 18th over, what a knock.

Ben Stokes and the man who Bashir replaced for England, Jack Leach esque.

    89-4 Derbyshire were earlier today.
