50 for Martin Anderssonpublished at 14:48 BST 8 September

    Derbys 155-4 v Kent

92 balls of impressive rebuilding, he came in at a time with his side in real trouble.

Top runscorer for his county this year being the first to reach 50 yet again.

He gets there with one through the leg side off a full ball from Ekansh Singh.

    Yorkshire 129-2 v Essex

James Wharton is well forward to Matt Critchley to block out the over.

Can Essex prize Adam Lyth out now? What a turnaround from 125-0 that would be.

Jamie Porter is round the wicket to Lyth - who defends.

Lyth is struck on the back foot by a beauty that shapes in but a bit too high for LBW.

He gets away with a single pushed to deep third.

Porter drifts into the pads of James Wharton, who tucks the ball away for two.

    Dickson lbw b Barnard 9 (Glamorgan 48-6 v Warks)

Ethan Bamber takes a breather after a spell of 5-28 in eight overs.

Warwickshire captain Ed Barnard relieves him and strikes in his first over!

Sean Dickson is the man to go.

There's no EB and flow in this game at the moment - it's all going Warwickshire's way.

    Notts 200-4 v Hampshire

Kyle Abbott is brought back into the attack, but Joe Clarke is now a batter with his eye in.

The first ball is on Clarke's pads and that is confidently flicked away for four.

Two balls later and Abbott is again on leg-stump and Clarke only seems to deflect it, but it picks up base and makes it way to the short legside rope.

Eight in three balls and the 200 is up for Notts, while this stand between Clarke and Mitch Hay reaches three figures, 102 to be precise.

    Leicestershire v Somerset 117-0

Lovely shot from Tom Lammonby off his former Somerset 2s teammate for four.

Nathan Gilchrist never played Championship cricket for Somerset, making his first-class debut for Kent in the Bob Willis Trophy, but his last first-class match was against Somerset at Taunton in June when that phenomenal partnership between Craig Overton and Thomas Rew saved the game.

Both Gilchrist and Thomas Rew spent time at St Stithians College, Johannesburg, the very famous cricketing school that often sees loan spells between there and Kings, much like Gilchrist's loan to Leicestershire for a fortnight now!

  6. Postpublished at 14:42 BST 8 September

    Glamorgan 43-5 v Warks

Almost half a dozen for Ethan Bamber.

Chris Cooke flashes at a wideish one and is lucky to see the ball clear the slips and run away for four.

    Whiteman c Porter b Critchley 0 - Yorkshire 126-2 v Essex

A big LBW appeal from Matt Critchley against Sam Whiteman but it's not out - just outside the line.

But he's gone this time though, sweeping round the corner to Jamie Porter - and Essex have two wickets in successive overs.

    James Wharton to bat next.

  8. wicket

    Robinson lbw b Higgins 27 (Durham 135-6 v Middlesex)

Maybe that's why Ollie Robinson was in a hurry because this pitch feels like it has enough in it to have a batter's number.

Ryan Higgins gets one to nip back from outside off and it strikes Robinson on the knee roll.

There is not too much doubt about that one and Middlesex end a useful stand of 42.

  9. Postpublished at 14:40 BST 8 September

    Worcs 75-2 v Northants

Luke Procter bangs one into the deck and Jake Libby has plenty of time to rock onto the back foot and pull it away for four. The Worcestershire opener is now 44 not out but almost loses his wicket with a loose swish outside off stump. Fortunately for him, there is no tickle.

  10. Postpublished at 14:39 BST 8 September

    Derbys 150-4 v Kent

Still not many present at Derby, you would think there would be many Kent fans present for their anti-penultimate match in what could be a promotion earning campaign as well as many locals for their last home game of the year.

But those there are being rewarded with brighter, warmer conditions.

Ekansh Singh the latest bowler used for a second spell attempting to break this useful fifth-wicket partnership.

  11. Postpublished at 14:38 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 125-1 v Essex

That Jamie Porter delivery really was a work of art.

His line is a bit awry to Sam Whiteman though, leg side and running away for four leg byes.

    Luxton b Porter 50 - Yorkshire 121-1 v Essex

Jamie Porter is already into his 11th over of the innings as Essex strive for a breakthrough.

Adam Lyth leaves a back of a length ball outside his off stump.

He gets a single to mid-wicket.

And Will Luxton has gone! A leg cutter, beating the forward defensive stroke to hit middle and off. Beauty.

Sam Whiteman is in at three.

  14. Postpublished at 14:34 BST 8 September

    Durham 134-5 v Middlesex

That is an excellent punch off the back foot from Ollie Robinson for the first boundary of this session.

Robinson then grabs a single with another nice shot off the back foot from the next ball.

The wicketkeeper has 26 off 22 balls to add a bit of ballast to the innings.

    Leicestershire v Somerset 101-0

Another 50 for Somerset's breakthrough star of the season who played for Leicestershire as a T20 bowler and lower order hitter last year.

His fourth of the Championship season with two hundreds and decent One-Day Cup runs from number five as well.

73 balls it takes him today.

    Durham 127-5 v Middlesex

Ryan Higgins has the ball in hand as the team are back out in the north east.

And Colin Ackermann quickly adds a single to the scoreboard to get the innings moving again.

  17. Postpublished at 14:32 BST 8 September

    Leicestershire v Somerset 96-0

Nathan Gilchrist is given a second spell, but it ain't much better, going for seven off his first over back.

0-32 off six from the Harare-born tall right-hander.

Not helped by an inexcusable misfield by Stephen Eskinazi letting two through it should be said, he wrings his shoulder but seems ok to continue captaining on the field.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Will Luxtonpublished at 14:31 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 119-0 v Essex

Essex have turned to spin for the first time in the game, bringing on Matt Critchley to bowl some leg breaks.

There's a bit of turn there as Will Luxton plays to Jamie Porter at backward point.

The next ball is turned to deep point and that's an 81-ball half century with 10 fours.

His third score of 50 or more for the Tykes this season in which he has one century, 167, made in Scarborough back in June against Warwickshire.

  19. Five-wicket haul for Ethan Bamberpublished at 14:30 BST 8 September

    Glamorgan 36-5 v Warks

What an afternoon this is for Ethan Bamber.

He completes his second five-for of the season, and sixth of his career, by bowling Colin Ingram for 19.

A fine delivery which came back in from outside off stump and Bamber - in his seventh over - now has 5-24.

Chris Cooke is the new batter and offers no shot to Bamber's next delivery.

  20. Postpublished at 14:29 BST 8 September

    Derbys 134-4 v Kent

Bertie Foreman continues to impress, just going for a few singles, tying up an end, making you wonder why Sussex let him go, but sadly finances probably came into that.

Also with Shoaib Bashir and Jack Morley in the Derbyshire side it of course makes sense that the pitch is going to take some turn.
