Capsey's keeping has been fine, hasn't it, Peter? Not sure she's done much wrong.

Just shows how bad our back-up cricketers are. Hopeless bowling and who is keeping wicket? We need to find a replacement for Jones but this is not the answer. Coach needs a good shake-up.

  3. Ire 221-4published at 42 overs

Rebecca Stokell has clobbered this one too! This time she is sweeping Mady Villiers. Ireland are still fighting their way towards a testing total here.

You sense that Ireland are still trying to find that tempo in 50-over cricket and how you go about. A loose over from Dani Gibson will help them.

  5. Ire 214-4published at 41 overs

Ah, this is one of the shots of the day!

Rebecca Stokell hits Dani Gibson back over her head for four.

I was about to say Stokell is the danger to England here but Leah Paul pulls a four at the end of Gibson's over too.

Leah Paul has to be brave here and look to take it on if she starts to get bogged down. 200 up for Ireland and they have played well to get going again after a tricky spell.

  7. Ire 204-4published at 40 overs

Leah Paul is a deflector rather than a power hitter and with the dots building she gets down on one knee to padel the ball over her head. Spinner Mady Villiers responds with a much quicker delivery fired in almost seamer-style.

    10 to go.

I think England need to keep their foot on the gas now and keep Ireland to under to 240.

  9. Ire 196-4published at 39 overs

    Stokell 11, Paul 4

Charlie Dean still doesn't look thrilled with life despite this little fightback by her side. Some very large shades are hiding a scowl.

    Four from the over.

Rebecca Stokell has power. She needs to play with some freedom. She's tall with long levers but looks like someone who doesn't realise how far she can hit the ball. She did start out as a top-order player.

  11. Ire 192-4published at 38 overs

What can Ireland get to here? 270 was possibly with Hunter there.

We have been saying there's 'only' five batters for Ireland but I think these last six batters can hold their own.

  13. Ire 189-4published at 37 overs

Alice Capsey is annoyed at herself as five wides are leaked at the end of Dean's over. England's new keeper Capsey thinks she should have got there but it was well down the leg side from Dean.

Leah Paul is the new batter.

You could feel this happening. It was building and building. This is where Charlie Dean comes into her own when it becomes more of a T20 scenario.

    Hunter b Dean 62 (Ire 184-4)

England's fightback continues. After that tight over from Filer, skipper Charlie Dean brings herself on and does the same. Eventually, Amy Hunter is tempted into charging down the pitch and when she misses Dean hits.

    England's skipper is pumped up.

Tilly Corteen-Coleman hasn't threatened the stumps enough today with only 10% of balls bowled on a stump line - the lowest of all England bowlers today.

  17. Ire 182-3published at 36 overs

I reckon Lauren Filer might have been England's best bowler today. She hasn't threatened massive but has been tight with her lines.

She returns here and concedes only a single.

Really impressed with Alice Capsey so far. One excellent take as a stand-in wicketkeeper and also stepping up her vocals as is customary for a keeper.

    Hunter 60, Stokell 7

Tilly Corteen-Coleman is put under pressure again here as Rebecca Stokell whacks her over the covers for four. Stokell looks pleased with herself as she towers over the more diminutive Amy Hunter at the end of the over.

Mady Villiers gets her reward after being the most threatening spinner all day. Villiers has spun the ball more than any other England spinner (Villiers 2.8°, TCC 2.2°, Dean 2.0°), while also challenging the stumps one in every four deliveries.
