Have your say on England women this summer

  1. Ire 174-3published at 34 overs

Rebecca Stokell is the new batter and after missing her first delivery on the drive she gets off the mark second ball.

Mady Villiers always seems to be a player up for a tussle. She sprawls to her right to stop a boundary off the final ball of her over.

What's been Orla Prendergast's downfall there is how clean she is hitting it. Mady Villiers bowled a horrible dragdown but because Orla has hit it so cleanly it's ended up carrying to Maia Bouchier in the deep.

    Prendergast c Bouchier b Villiers 19 (Ire 172-3)

The drag-down brings a wicket! Orla Prendergast almost gets too much of this. The fact she hits it well gives Maia Bouchier a chance out at deep mid-wicket and the England batter takes a very good tumbling catch after making ground to her right.

    A big moment.

That was such an easy and effortless strike from Orla Prendergast.

  5. Ire 172-2published at 33 overs

Sixteen runs from the over. 19-year-old Tilly Corteen-Coleman is going at almost eight runs per over.

Orla Prendergast is putting Tilly Corteen-Coleman under real pressure now.

  7. 6 runs

    Ire 171-2published at 32.4 overs

And the free hit is smacked for six over mid-wicket by Orla Prendergast!

  8. Ire 165-2published at 32.3 overs

Four more. This one is too wide from Tilly Corteen-Coleman, even with a packed off-side field. Corteen-Coleman has been a bit loose today as well.

    Oh and it's a no-ball too!

  9. Ire 160-2published at 32.2 overs

Slapped for four by Orla Prendergast. She was listening...

Orla Prendergast playing her shots here is going to give Ireland the best chance here.

  12. Ire 156-2published at 32 overs

Very good from England's new wicketkeeper Alice Capsey, who takes a rising ball from Issy Wong near her shoulders while standing up to the stumps.

This may only be her second professional match, international or otherwise, as a keeper but she clearly has talent. People around the England camp were saying she really good do this ob at the start of the summer.

I spoke to Capsey about this experiment yesterday.

  13. Ire 152-2published at 31 overs

Charlie Dean with that familiar quick arm races through another over, conceding only singles. Dani Gibson appears to be playing a senior role out there in the absence of other key players.

This is such a crucial time for England now. They have an in but know how dangerous Orla Prendergast can be.

Ireland are still looking at around 270 here you would think.

  16. Ire 149-2published at 30 overs

Wong's wicket has come after that change of ends Katherine Sciver-Brunt was calling for on TMS. Of course she has been boosted by the breakthrough but she looks far more comfortable.

There are none of those wayward deliveries we saw earlier as key batter Orla Prendergast is kept on nought.

That's the breakthrough! The change of bowling has done it. A really fine partnership has come to an end.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 29.3 overs

    Lewis b Wong 69 (Ire 149-2)

    Breakthrough!

Much better from Issy Wong! With a bit of fizz and nip off the pitch, she sneaks one between Gaby Lewis' bat and pad.

The ball clatters into timber and Wong is leaping in celebration.

  19. Ire 146-1published at 29 overs

    Another fumble.

It's good from Ireland too. Lewis and Hunter are putting the pressure onto the fielders by running the first one hard.

  20. Ire 144-1published at 28 overs

    Lewis 66, Hunter 53

Maia Bouchier looks to the sky after a bit of a fumble at deep mid-wicket. Sophia Dunkley fails to take one cleanly later in the over as Gaby Lewis pushes a quick single.

England's fielding was very good in the T20 World Cup.
