Charlie Dean seems to have worked out the pace of this pitch quite nicely - she's just tempting the Irish batters here.

  2. Ire 63-2published at 18 overs

    Hunter 19, Prendergast 17

Ireland continue to tick over with four from the over but Charlie Dean is bowling nicely.

The game is in something of a holding pattern. We're waiting to see when Orla Prendergast and Amy Hunter decide to up the ante.

  3. drinks break

Drinks break - Ire 59-2published at 17 overs

Better rotation of the strike from Ireland as they take five from the Tilly Corteen-Coleman over.

Orla Prendergast shows that she might be ready to kick things up a notch as she hits up and over the top, comfortably clearing mid-on, only for the ball to plug in the outfield.

With that, it's time for drinks.

Tilly Corteen-Coleman was wayward in the first ODI with just 14% of balls bowled challenging the stumps. If she wants to emulate Sophie Ecclestone in this format, she will need to target the ball with every one in three deliveries.

Signs are encouraging so far from her first four overs, with over half of her balls targeting the stumps

  5. Ire 54-2published at 16 overs

With Ireland going nowhere in a hurry, Charlie Dean brings in a slip as she continues.

Just two singles from the over. Without looking particularly threatening with the ball, England seem to be in control of proceedings at the moment.

  6. Ire 52-2published at 15 overs

A wide from Tilly Corteen-Coleman helps Ireland to move to 50 before a misfield from Dani Gibson at extra cover allows Orla Prendergast a single.

In Gibson's defence, she was diving forward into the dusty wicket ends on the square and got an awkward bounce.

  7. Ire 48-2published at 14 overs

    Hunter 14, Prendergast 9

Ireland take five from Charlie Dean's latest with Orla Prendergast getting a pair of twos down to deep third.

Both came via edges, the first as she tries to cut and the second just a genuine nick after being dragged forward by Dean.

It's all been pretty sedate so far, only four boundaries for Ireland in 14 overs.

I've been really impressed with Charlie Dean standing in as England captain. I haven't got a bad word to say about her.

The game is nicely poised here. England are pulling the strings and another wicket for Ireland could really put the pressure on them.

How much will England tighten the screw?

  9. Ire 43-2published at 13 overs

    Good over from Tilly Corteen-Coleman.

One loopy full toss aside, she is landing it nicely and not giving the Ireland batters any free hits. Impressive stuff from the young left-arm spinner.

  10. Ire 41-2published at 12 overs

England captain Charlie Dean brings herself into the attack and sees her first ball nicely driven through extra cover by Amy Hunter, adding two to Ireland's total.

Just a pair of singles follow. A tidy enough start from the off-spinner.

I've been impressed with Tilly Corteen-Coleman. This season I've seen a difference in her athleticism and fielding. You might not have them when you are young and put some work in there. I think she will go from strength to strength.

For her it will be about managing the ups and downs of her career. But what I know of her is she is really level headed.

We've had one run out already in this innings and Ireland are giving England plenty of reason to believe there may be more...

  13. Ire 37-2published at 11 overs

Another risky single from Orla Prendergast and she can be grateful that Dani Gibson's throw goes to the wrong end!

Prendergast drives nicely but can't beat Gibson at extra cover. However, the England fielder opts to throw to the wicketkeeper's end rather than have a shy at the non-striker's, where Prendergast would have been struggling.

Four singles from Tilly Corteen-Coleman, the latter three all rather more comfortable.

Ireland have tried to be proactive but have not been able to get away. England will be pleased.

  15. Ire 33-2published at 10 overs

Very good over from Issy Wong, just a single from it - and that almost brought another run out as new batter Orla Prendergast ran through for a risky one - plus the big wicket of Gaby Lewis.

With that second wicket, England will be pleased with their powerplay. Both openers gone and they've kept the runs down as well.

On first glance it looks a similar dismissal to the other day - a carbon copy. It was a booming drive which is through bat and pad. That's a big blow for Ireland - their key batter is gone in the powerplay.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.2 overs

    Lewis b Wong 19 (Ire 32-2)

Bowled 'er! That's a big wicket!

Full from Issy Wong, just pitching around off stump and then nipping back off the seam to beat Gaby Lewis through the gate as she looks to drive.

It was a wobble-seam delivery and the Ireland skipper is comprehensively bowled.

  18. Ire 32-1published at 9 overs

Another shot from Amy Hunter that is not particularly pleasing on the eye. Skipping down to Tilly Corteen-Coleman and trying to hoick to leg.

She gets bat on it but rather plinks the ball towards mid-on for no run.

One over left in the powerplay and Issy Wong will continue.

Great shot from Gaby Lewis. Not her first option, the sweep, as she prefers to go down the ground. But any player who sweeps and hits down the ground is very hard to bowl to.

  20. Ire 31-1published at 8.3 overs

Excellent shot from Gaby Lewis, spotting that square leg has been brought into the ring and sweeping over the in-field for four.
