Have your say on England women this summer

  1. Murray survivespublished at 40.2 overs

It did hit the pad first...but pitched outside the line.

    Cara Murray survives.

Even if it is pad first then I think it's missing leg.

This could either be a stroke of genius from Charlie Dean or it could be a touch embarrassing if it has come off the middle of the bat.

  4. England reviewpublished at 40.2 overs

Cara Murray is the new batter.

A bit bat-paddy to Tilly Corteen-Coleman with a defensive stroke.

    Charlie Dean elects to review.

It's not been great for Ireland and that is the inexperience showing with that wicket.

Five five dot balls and then have a swing at one down the ground. Can you use your cricket smarts? Can you get off strike and then pick your ball to go after?

That ends a difficult stay at the crease for Louise Little. Too many dot balls, she tries to go downtown and is caught.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40 overs

    Little c Grewcock b Wong 2 (Ire 142-6)

That Alice Capsey drop doesn't matter a jot, however.

A couple of balls later and Louise Little chips one up in the air down the ground having grown frustrated after five dots.

A simple take for Jodi Grewcock.

I think that has nipped away off the seam. It did get a healthy nick to be fair to Alice Capsey. It was a good effort.

  9. dropped catch

Little dropped on twopublished at 39.4 overs

A second drop for Alice Capsey and this one probably should have been held. She's stood up to the stumps and Louise Little edges a defensive shot off Issy Wong but it's spilled.

Amy Hunter has just got to keep playing as she is, trying to score off every ball but without taking too much risk.

At the other end, they need to start motoring a bit more.

  11. Ire 142-5published at 38 overs

Tilly Corteen-Coleman with five dots before Louise Little dabs a single to keep the strike. Ireland are going to have cut loose at some point.

If you're not able to play straight on a wicket where the ball is keeping slightly low, it takes your strength out of it.

England have been very good at pitching it up and hitting the stumps. Not feeding Leah Paul's strength and she's had to go against it and try to pull a ball that's not there and plays on.

Amy Hunter is in some form in 50-over cricket this year, with five 50+ scores in eight innings. She is currently averaging 66.57.

  14. Ire 141-5published at 38 overs

Louise Little the new batter for Ireland with 12 overs of their innings remaining.

Leah Paul goes for that boundary option and she's been bowled! Off stump knocked backwards.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 37.5 overs

    Paul b Wong 23 (Ire 140-5)

Issy Wong is summoned by Charlie Dean.

The England speedster hones in on the wickets and dislodges Leah Paul's off stump after the Ireland batter slogs across the line and drags on.

Back-to-back fifties for Amy Hunter, who has combatted the slower pitch well and scored in different areas to the first ODI. 80% of her runs today have been scored in-front of square, compared to a far closer 50/50 split in Leicester.

Leah Paul just switched her hands and pulled it. It was more of a reverse-pull, not with much power but enough to beat the fielder.

  19. Ire 137-4published at 37 overs

A nice bit of innovation from Leah Paul as she picks up her first boundary off Mady Villiers with a kind of reverse swat for four.

I don't think Amy Jones is in danger of losing her place but healthy competition within a squad is good.

Her keeping is more valuable than people give her credit for.
