  1. Eng 12-0published at 3 overs

    Target 166

Sophia Dunkley drills a drive into the covers next ball but can't get it through this time.

From there, Orla Prendergast tightens up her line and a single clipped to fine leg is the only further run from the over.

That is classic seamer mentality. Orla Prendergast pulled out of the delivery because something was bothering her and then when she does deliver she ends up switching off.

  3. Eng 11-0published at 2.2 overs

    Target 166

Short, wide and clattered to the boundary by Sophia Dunkley.

A gift from Orla Prendergast, really.

  4. Eng 6-0published at 2 overs

    Target 166

Very nice start from Jane Maguire.

Full, targeting the stumps but with a little bit of shape away from the right-hander.

She errs slightly later in the over but a fraction of width is all Sophia Dunkley, playing her 50th ODI, needs to cut the ball away for two.

The last is wider and Dunkley's eyes light up... but she plays and misses this time.

That is a good over from Orla Prendergast - good lines and good pace but the length was just off a fraction. There's enough movement to cause enough problems and she just needs to pitch it up a yard.

  7. Eng 4-0published at 1 over

    Target 166

Much better from Orla Prendergast after those two wides to start.

She finds a probing line around off stump and there is a bit of nibble off the pitch.

Two more singles complete the scoring for the over, both England openers are off the mark.

England know it's a good pitch. That was a way below-par performance by the Irish batters and they will know that.

  9. Eng 2-0published at 0 overs

    Target 166

Not the start Orla Prendergast or Ireland wanted... the innings begins with a wide. And now another.

One wide of off, the next down leg. A pair of freebies for England.

Here we go then, the England openers were very keen and made their way to middle even before the umpires.

The officials and the Ireland team have now joined them out there and Orla Prendergast is ready to bowl the first over of the innings.

England need 166 to win the series.

Maia Bouchier and Sophia Dunkley complement each other so well. They should be England's opening partnership in ODIs going forward.

  12. Postpublished at 16:30 BST 3 September

Not long until England get their chase under way.

That means we'll see Maia Bouchier and Sophia Dunkley back in action after they put on 143 for the first wicket in the series opener in Leicester.

Same again today and the rest won't have much to do...

For Ireland, the positive of a pretty disappointing innings was another half-century for 20-year-old Amy Hunter.

It wasn't her most fluent knock but she stuck in and there's not doubt her side would be in a far worse position without her efforts.

Issy Wong hit a good line and length with 49% of her deliveries today and challenged the stumps with 39% of balls. Both figures are the highest for any match of her ODI career.

Issy Wong was the star of the show for England with her first international five-wicket haul.

She took the big early wicket of Gaby Lewis early on and didn't look back.

Below par from Ireland. Credit to England, they've bowled and fielded well.

They've been energetic in the field here in Derby, known as a typically quite tricky outfield as well.

A great job by all the bowlers, Issy Wong the standout with her 5-33 but assisted by Mady Villers, who got the big wicket of Orla Prendergast.

    Thanks, Tim.

A pretty professional job from England in the field, they're well on their way to clinching the series with a game to spare.

Ireland will have something to say about that but it is going to take something special from their bowlers to force a decider in Worcester on Sunday.

Right, England must be fairly confident of knocking this off in time for Blockbusters.

A nice moment for Issy Wong as she is tossed the match ball and her team-mates are going to make sure that she leads them off.

She looks a little reluctant but takes off her cap to take the plaudits.

Issy Wong leads England's players off the field and takes the applause from the crowd. The pick of the attack today.
