    Wow that is Ben Stokes in his pomp, as he brings up the Durham 150 with a charge and smite into the sight screen for six.

    You have to feel for the Glos loanees, the only three bowlers to bowl so far this morning all not being Glos contracted players.

    Equally it is a great opportunity to get a famous scalp as either Stokes of david Bedingham could potentially miscue one going for big shots, as the next ball edge for four by Stokes shows!

    Their 50 partnership also comes up, Stokes with exactly 25 of them.

    Guthrie gets one to straighten which pins Compton bang in front and both Kent openers are now back in the hutch.

    Compton had a life on 17 and has only added two to his overnight 51.

    The former England under-19 seamer joined Essex but now plays on loan for Gloucestershire back on the turf that means so much to his family.

    He bowled four overs for eighteen last night, and starts well with five dots, then just a final ball two to rob him of a deserved maiden.

    Lewis Gregory is furious with himself as he gifts four leg byes down the leg side then bowls a long hop that is pulled well for four by Tom Clark.

    Ben Stokes joins the party now, standing strong and tall and delivering a ferocious drive down the ground, not textbook, more dismissive, smashing that one hard past the bowler James Hayes for four.

    Olly Hannon-Dalby has been a reliable performer for the Bears for such a long time and remains a big threat.

    He draws Ben Martindale forward and beats the outside edge with a beauty. The young left-hander is then left looking at the pitch after a ball zips through a touch low.

    Slow going in the opening five overs at Worcester and Derby.

    Lancashire scored just five runs from them at New Road while Derbyshire amassed nine against Middlesex.
