Carlos Gu joined the Strictly family in 2022, bringing an impressive list of dance accolades with him – and now he can add Strictly Come Dancing Champion to the list!

A Chinese National Champion, Carlos is a multiple world semi-finalist and finished third at the German Open Championships. He was also Amateur Latin Rising Star Runner-Up at the 2017 UK Open and has a wealth of experience across Ballroom, ballet and contemporary dance.

Carlos made quite the entrance during his first Strictly series, partnering singer and CBBC star Molly Rainford and dancing all the way to the Grand Final in 2022. The following year, he teamed up with presenter Angela Scanlon, with the pair narrowly missing out on a place in the Quarter Final.

But 2025 proved to be Carlos’ biggest Strictly year yet! Partnered with former England footballer Karen Carney, the pair wowed their way through the competition before lifting the coveted Glitterball Trophy and being crowned Strictly Come Dancing Champions 2025!

Now a reigning Strictly champion, Carlos returns to the Ballroom ready to bring even more incredible choreography, fierce moves and champion sparkle to the dancefloor!
