Dragons supporters are certainly going to have a good night after their team treated them to a derby victory.

It was an engrossing encounter at Rodney Parade and Scarlets have to settle for a single bonus point after more than playing their part.

It's been another tough start to the campaign for Nigel Davies' men, who have now lost successive derbies to Cardiff and Dragons.

They are missing Fletcher Anderson and Taine Plumtree up front, with a reunion with Wayne Pivac looming when Benetton visit Llanelli in round three.

Dragons, meanwhile, have given themselves a launchpad.

Dragons scored six tries but still left plenty out there. They will fancy their chances of backing up this victory and extending their unbeaten start to the campaign when they host Ospreys on Friday.

This first block of the URC can set the tone and Filo Tiatia's men have a kind fixture list with five games in Wales.

Rodney Parade was bouncing in the Saturday afternoon sunshine and it will be raucous under Friday night lights.

We'll be providing coverage of Dragons versus Ospreys, so hopefully you can join us for that.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia told Premier Sports:

"We had all the possession and territory in the first half but just weren’t clinical enough.

"We were in control and needed to maximise the opportunities when they were on.

"I am really proud of the group. We want to keep growing and keep going up the ladder.

"We have a good challenge next week against the Ospreys."

I thought Dragons really deserved that win.

Scarlets took their chances when they had them but the variety in Dragons' attack was amazing.

Scarlets really haven't started their season well.

There's a lot of quality in that group but they're looking short of confidence.

Dragons started the season with a draw at Benetton that could have been a win.

There was no mistake this time with a deserved derby victory against Scarlets, scoring six tries and impressing with their variety.

Their driving line-out was a real weapon - Elliot Dee was excellent - but they also got into the wide channels, with centre Aneurin Owen the glue.

Superb again by Dragons. Huge credit to Filo Tiatia, this looks like a team that's fully transformed.

    Jac Lloyd adds the extras.

That's a win for the Dragons - replacement lock Will Evans knocks on after fielding a box kick.

Time against the Scarlets, and they concede a scrum penalty.

Replacement fly-half Jac Lloyd kicks for the corner rather than risking a long-range penalty... and it's a cracker.

As things stand Scarlets have two bonus points but they will be hungry for more.

A knock on gives them a chance to attack from just outside their own 22.

Remember, they are still down to 14 men for a couple of minutes.

What a response by Scarlets, just as Dragons had daylight.

They take a line-out quickly and pile on the pressure in the 22.

A Blair Murray jink is followed by replacement back Ioan Jones darting over.

Costelow misses a conversion he really should have got, but they are back within striking distance.

He is given a huge ovation by the terrace as Brodie Coghlan comes on.

De Beer converts and Dragons are closing in on another derby win against Scarlets.

Dragons keep it tight but the attack ends with a knock-on.

They'll go again for what could be a killer blow. De Beer kicks for the corner.

Dragons smell blood - they go for the 22.

Great patience in attack from Dragons there, they didn't push their luck.

It was an easy two-on-one for Anuerin Owen in the end, and he hasn't done much wrong at all today.
