Max Jowitt makes no mistake from the tee.

Wakefield have played a clever game in this half and haven't backed down or looked nervous.

And now they're two points up.

  2. captains challenge

    Captain's Challengepublished at 32 mins

    Wigan 6-6 Wakefield

Wakefield are challenging an on-field decision of knock-on against Caius Faatili.

The challenge is successful as Ollie Partington is judged to have barged in when he shouldn't have.

And Wakefield have opted to kick the penalty that follows.

  3. 'Great work by Wakefield'published at 18:09 BST 26 September

    Wigan 6-6 Wakefield

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Two

Great work there by Wakefield. The build-up, the patience - that's what it was all about.

They didn't want to overplay, they've done that a couple of times in the last two sets, but no, keep their patience, keep building on their standards and what they do really well.

  4. try

TRY: Wigan 6-6 Wakefieldpublished at 18:06 BST 26 September

    Tom Johnstone, goal Max Jowitt

Jazz Tevaga looks to make amends as he picks up the ball and races towards the Wigan try-line, but he's held up before he can go over.

Soon after Wakefield are awarded another set of six and go again and Tom Johnstone is fed on the wing and touches down!

Trinity are on the board and it's great stuff from Max Jowitt who swiftly offloads to Johnstone just before he touches down.

Jowitt nails the two and Wakefield are all square.

  5. 'Brilliant by Wigan's defence'published at 18:05 BST 26 September

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Two

Wigan's defence take a bow. That was absolutely brilliant. Wakefield had them split, sixes and sevens on the right-hand side of the field and they got their numbers sorted out.

That's how you do scramble defence.

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

Not a million miles away from the first half of today's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, this.

Attritional at times and one for the purists. That race opened up to a pretty thrilling finale, however.

Will that be the case in this Super League semi-final? Wigan are only a score ahead of course.

  7. 'Organised chaos'published at 18:03 BST 26 September

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

    Matt Newsum
    Commentator on BBC Two

This is chaos, but it's organised chaos.

  8. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

Wakefield are again deep in the Wigan half and they desperately try to keep the ball alive, working it laterally on the last tackle.

    But Wigan's defence holds firm.

  9. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

Wakefield back up to full strength as Jazz Tevaga's time in the sin-bin comes to an end.

Still 15 minutes left in the half and Wigan's lead isn't unassailable.

Can Trinity get some points on the board before the hooter's sounded?

  10. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

Lachlan Walmsley and Cam Scott exchange a pair of last-ditch hail Mary backwards passes as Wakefield run to the corner on the last.

But Wakefield can't keep the attack alive before the turnover.

Just give Wigan the title already, every decision seems to go in their favour!! They don't need the help as they are the best team in the league

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

Play restarts with four-and-a-half minutes left before Jazz Tevaga's spell in the sin-bin ends.

Wakefield looked in pretty decent shape up until that yellow card but they certainly look a bit disjointed right about now.

  13. 'Wigan sticking to the script'published at 17:56 BST 26 September

    Wigan 6-0 Wakefield

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Two

Brilliant work by Wigan there, being patient and sticking to the script.

Brad O'Neill does what he does so well. He spotted an opportunity, jumped out of there, the defender's on the backfoot, uses his power and gets the ball over the try line.

  14. try

TRY: Wigan 6-0 Wakefieldpublished at 18 mins

    Brad O'Neill, goal Adam Keighran

Not the most stylish of tries you'll see but Wigan are ahead and make their advantage count against a depleted Wakefield.

Man of Steel nominee Brad O'Neill gathers the ball, Trinity surround him but can't keep him from showing the strength to fall backwards and outstretch his right arm to ground it under the posts.

As you might expect, fellow Man of Steel nominee Adam Keighran makes no mistake with the boot.

  15. 'A massive situation'published at 17:52 BST 26 September

    Wigan 0-0 Wakefield

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Two

That sin-bin is a massive, massive situation because we're right at that critical time where both sets of forward are starting to get tired but if you give them the opportunity to get on the front foot and they'll do that.

It didn't look like much in real time.

  16. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Wigan 0-0 Wakefield

Wigan almost make an immediate impact with their player advantage!

Jai Field just won't go down as he makes a good 10 metres before he finally goes to ground.

He offloads to Adam Keighran who does incredibly well to palm the ball behind him before he runs into the advertising hoardings.

Wigan keep the attack alive temporarily before Wakefield can calm things down and get control of the ball once more.

  17. SIN-BINpublished at 14 mins

    Wigan 0-0 Wakefield

Jezz Tevaga is indeed sin-binned for a trip on Liam Marshall.

He sort of dives down and takes his legs from under him. There's not a whole lot of contact. But there is contact there and he's shown yellow for it.

  18. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Wigan 0-0 Wakeifeld

Zack Eckersley puts in a sensational last-ditch tackle on Max Jowitt as Wakefield camp themselves out in the Wigan 10.

Wigan regain possession soon after and Liam Marshall's tripped up by Trinity's Jezz Tevaga.

The home crowd do not like that. Looks like we're going upstairs for another look but only by virtue of the referee's microphone setup not working properly, meaning he's had to come to the touchline.

  19. 'Wakefield can absorb pressure all afternoon'published at 17:47 BST 26 September

    Wigan 0-0 Wakefield

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Two

The the threat that Wakefield offer. They can absorb pressure all afternoon, but given a sniff, they're going to go all at it.

  20. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Wigan 0-0 Wakefield

Jake Trueman puts a sensational kick in towards goal for his Wakefield team-mate Mike McMeeken to chase.

Harry Smith's scoops up the ball before McMeeken can dot down.
