Nah, that is brutal for big Mark Stewart.

Perfectly positioned for a podium place, played a blinder, works himself into second for the final lap, only to be beaten by the one man in the contested field he couldn’t afford to be.

Absolutely sickening.

So, Matthew Bostock wins gold with 83 points. Australia's Oliver Bleddyn takes silver with 80 and New Zealand's George Jackson gets the bronze medal on 61 points.

Mark Stewart also finished on 61 points, but Jackson was in a better finishing position in the final sprint and that's what decides it.

What a moment for the Isle of Man.

That is just their fourth-ever gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Matthew Bostock has written himself into the island's history books.

Heartbreak for Scotland's Mark Stewart. He was in the bronze-medal spot before the final sprint, but George Jackson of New Zealand powered forwards at the last minute to gather 10 points and finish third.

The Isle of Man's Matthew Bostock is going for it! He's sped forward and will defend his lead from the front.

There's an Australian trio leading the way at the front as we approach the penultimate sprint. They're trying to boost Oliver Bleddyn's chances.

And it works! The Aussie rider takes the five points.

All three Welsh riders in this race are called William so essentially it's the most efficient day for the Welsh supporters ever.

Three for the price of one.

It's Will Perrett still in with a shout of a medal in sixth place as Will Roberts and Will Salter trail in 10th and 14th with not long left.

Wales' William Perrett is launching an attack. If he can lap the rest of the field it would move him into the podium places.

The other riders aren't having it.

Three more points for Matthew Bostock. That's him seven points clear of liver Bleddyn in the silver-medal position.

Mark Stewart wins another sprint! Another five points moves him into the bronze medal position on 55 points.

Never mind just racing round this track 160 times, thinking - and reminding yourself - of a plan of attack? Dearie me.

Unless you're Mark Stewart - who is currently seventh - that is. He never has a plan.

Scotland's Mark Stewart takes the next five points. He's only three points away from a place on the podium.

New Zealand's Keegan Hornblow hurls himself up the standings as he kickstarts a solo attack and laps the field. That takes him up to sixth.

We've got a new leader! The Isle of Man's Matthew Bostock, along with Olivier Bleddyn of Australia, launch a move and they lap the field for a third time.

Bostock leads on 72 points with 54 laps to go.

Twenty points for Wales' William Perrett and he's up to second with 50 points.

Bermuda's Conor White is the only rider who hasn't picked up a point yet.
