The drama and racing at the front has overshadowed what has been an absolutely stellar race for Fernando Alonso, by the way.

He's up to ninth and is set to score points for Aston Martin.

George Russell is the slowest man in the top seven. The pack behind him are closing rapidly.

Kimi Antonelli's just taken nine tenths out of his Mercedes team-mate George Russell on that llast lap.

Antonelli's on a set of softs, however. Meanwhile Russell's hard tyres are 20 laps old. And it's too late to box now.

George Russell's making his feelings known with that team radio, there.

He looked out of the frame just five minutes ago. Now he could possibly win this race. He's eight seconds behind Lando Norris in second right now.

George Russell: "Just think about working as a team here, if Kimi's out of the fight."

    Race engineer: "Affirm.

So then, Lando Norris and George Russell are the top two in this race and both are on older tyres than the drivers behind them.

For what it's worth, 14 seconds separates Lewis Hamilton in fourth and the race lead.

  7. Team radio - Norris to McLarenpublished at 15:50 BST 23 August

Lando Norris: "Do you think we need to take it? I'm a bit worried now."

    Race engineer: "We're checking"

  8. VSC endingpublished at Lap 58/72

Lando Norris, in the lead of this race, has run out of time to take advantage of a cheap pit stop as the virtual safety car comes to an end.

My word what on earth is going to happen between now and the end of this race? About five drivers could win this!

This is going to be a straight fight to the end. Hamilton could easily find his way on to the podium. There's a long way to go in this grand prix and he could really make a dent here.

Mercedes bring in Kimi Antonelli now and stick a set of softs on him.

He comes out ahead of Lewis Hamilton but BEHIND his team-mate George Russell.

The crane's out to cart off Esteban Ocon's Haas in the mean time.

Ferrari double stack Lewis Hamilton and Lewis Hamilton. It's not a perfect stop but it's not as slow as it could have been.

That means the pair come out in fourth and fifth respectively. Mercedes, who are in second with Kimi Antonelli and third with George Russell, could be vulnerable now.

Still a good bit of this race to go, remember.

  12. Team radio - Hamilton to Ferraripublished at 15:46 BST 23 August

Lewis Hamilton: "Are you using me as a guinea pig, or what. What's going on?! How long will you have me stay out?!"

Lewis Hamilton, after some remonstrations over the radio, is told to box.

Can Ferrari use this to their benefit?

Hamilton will almost certainly dive into the pits!

  16. Virtual safety carpublished at Lap 55/72

    VSC!

Esteban Ocon has stopped at the side of the track and we have a virtual safety car!

This could massively help Lewis Hamilton.

Before the lap's even out, Lando Norris takes the lead of this race from Lewis Hamilton.

    What a lap!

My word there's very little separating the top three at the minute.

It's like yesterday's sprint race and Lando Norris makes the move on Kimi Antonelli into second and he's now all over the back of Lewis Hamilton!

Lewis Hamilton desperately needs the two behind to trip over each other because he doesn't have the pace.
