Hibernian head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "It's really mixed emotions right now. Clearly disappointed and gutted for the players for what they put into the game.

"There's nothing I'm going to say after the game that will make the players feel better.

"First half, we were a wee bit passive, needed to be a wee bit more aggressive. Second half, I told them them to make sure they gave everything and have no regrets when they came off. Every player gave me that.

"You don't always get what you deserve in football and, unfortunately, it came down to two huge moments in the last five minutes of the game in both boxes - and we were on the wrong side of both."

Dunfermline Athletic v Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship, live on BBC Scotland, kicks off the SPFL weekend on Friday at 19:30 BST.

There are three Scottish Premiership fixtures and four in the Championship on Saturday (15:00), including Celtic v Falkirk and Hearts v St Johnstone as the hosts in those games return to league action after midweek European ties.

And, on Sunday, all three of tonight's Scottish representatives in Europe are back in Premiership action. Aberdeen v Rangers (12:00) is followed by Dundee v Hibernian and St Mirren v Motherwell (15:00).

Well, there is some Scottish interest in tomorrow's European draws.

Celtic will find out their eight Europa League opponents and Hearts will discover which six sides they will face in the Conference League.

Celtic's first Europa League fixture will take place on 16 or 17 September.

Hearts' first Conference League game will be on 15 October.

Rangers will go to Pittodrie [on Sunday] with tired legs and tired minds.

I think all teams lacked clarity at certain stages of the game and I feel that we're being outcoached from teams not, as a nation, that we should be.

Celtic's second half was genuinely absolutely horrendous decision making and game management in all aspects of it.

Hearts last night, everything you want to see in a Scottish team when they go down to 10 men. Outstanding. Getting through on penalties.

Rangers, I genuinely wasn't surprised by that. That was a very bang average side that Rangers were playing and should never go out to that.

At Easter Road, second half it was all Hibs up until that last 10 minutes. When you have to defend in moments and manage the game, they just weren't able to see it through.

Scottish football as a whole, this week has been very disappointing.

David Gray said pre-match he wanted a memorable night at Easter Road and his Hibernian side almost delivered before a late collapse.

A sobering week for Scottish football, particularly tonight.

The narrative around Hibs' performance should be a lot different to what we saw from Celtic and Rangers.

Hibs were excellent second half, we saw a different side to David Gray's side. They were so aggressive, so front foot, but there was a little naivety at the end.

The corner was a sickener. They got a warning a few minutes prior and the set piece is one where they commit so many bodies forward.

Hibs were brilliant second half. So good, came flying out the traps.

You could feel the energy inside the ground, it was bouncing. When they went ahead, you were thinking 'brilliant, what a story!'

The goals that they lose, they're so disappointing.

Chaiwa had the worst last two minutes of a game ever recorded.

Defeat for Hibernian after coming oh so close to winning this Conference League play-off.

Hibs trailed, fought back to lead through Jason Kerr and Felix Passlack goals only to lose two late on and it's the end of the European road for David Gray's side.

And Miguel Chaiwa's night goes from bad to worse.

The midfielder receives a second booking for a rash challenge in the centre circle and out comes the red card.
