Derek McInnes has urged Rangers to go out and win the second leg of their Conference League play-off against Jablonec rather than try to defend their one-goal lead.

A Ryan Naderi goal gave Rangers a slender 1-0 advantage to take to the Czech Republic for Thursday's second leg as they seek to qualify for the competition's league phase.

Manager McInnes is fully aware of the significance of the game in the context of Rangers' season.

"For obvious reasons, European football is so important to the club, both financially but also for the prestige element of it," he said.

"Being able to perform and represent the club in Europe is something that's very important to us.

"We have to try and play to win. It's important the players recognise that, that we're not just going out to try and protect a 1-0 lead, because the biggest danger of that is it comes back to bite you.

"So, the focus is on just bringing a big performance individually and as a team, and if we do that, then I feel hopefully with a team performance we can get the desired outcome."

McInnes believes Rangers have benefited from additional time on the training ground, having had a free weekend domestically.

"We need to play with real focus, real motivation, real togetherness," he added.

"While we won the game last week and were disappointed we never added to it with a couple of opportunities, it's important that we set out to win."

Defender Ben Godfrey, who has not played since 31 July, has travelled with the squad and could feature.

Midfielder Nick Raskin is not in Austria, amid transfer interest in the Belgium international.
