How have Arsenal done nothing? Linked with Vini Jnr, Alvarez and Barcola all to strengthen the left wing. Obviously a known weakness. Sell Trossard and Martinelli and only buy Tzolis. Massively disappointing to end up with one natural left wing option.

Looks like Arsenal won't sign Alvarez, but we need to make sure we strengthen our attack after losing the likes of Jesus, Trossard and Martinelli. Someone like Yildiz would fit in very well in North London.

Arteta really should have been looking at Ndiaye/Barcola instead of sending 4am "you up?" texts to Alvarez for a month.

Julian Alvarez is obviously staying at Atletico, and it's been clear for a while that that was the case, which makes Arsenal's lack of business on the left a bit boggling. Especially with the outgoings this summer. Tzolis can't do it all!

Mikel Arteta has been on the hunt for a real world-class attacking talent but it hasn't happened for them this summer.

BBC Sport Arsenal reporterIt was always going to be difficult for Arsenal to improve the side that won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final, but if the Gunners don't bring in a forward supporters will be disappointed.
As the Gunners showed in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa last night in the Premier League, they have one of the best squads in Europe but there are still question marks over their attack.
Bukayo Saka looks like he is getting back to his best after injury issues last season and has scored in the first two league games this season.
But it is the centre forward and left wing positions where questions remain.
Viktro Gyokeres scored 21 goals in all competitions but sometimes looks as though he doesn't fit the Arsenal style of play, while Kai Havertz although technically gifted is not a natural finisher.
Arsenal have pursued Julian Alvarez and also Vinicius Jr but at this stage of the window it looks like they are going to be unsuccessful in their search for a game-changing forward.

BBC Sport Senior football correspondentArsenal are in talks with Stevenage over loaning young goalkeeper Tommy Setford to the League One club.
BBC Sport revealed this morning that talks over a deal for the 20-year-old to join Las Palmas on loan had stalled.
And the Gunners have held discussions over sending Setford to Stevenage for the rest of the season.

We've got less than seven hours to go before the summer transfer window slams shut and there's plenty of las-minute deals happening. Here's a look at the ones that are not yet finalised and the ones that could still happen:
- Talks are on-going between Manchester City and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez for a minimum of £120m.
- Speaking of City, their proposed £80m move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo looks to have fallen through but they have agreed a deal to sign Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye for £65m. That deal is yet to be announced.
- Everton have agreed a deal to re-sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old is set for a medical with the Toffees with the move expected to be completed before Tuesday's 23:00 BST deadline.
- Julian Alvarez's potential move to Arsenal could still be one of the biggest deals of the day to watch out for with the Argentine's future hanging in the balance.
Brighton give new deal to Cozier-Duberry amid Middlesbrough loan talkspublished at 15:38 BST

Middlesbrough are understood to be leading the race for the 21-year-old's signature following an impressive spell at Bolton Wanderers in League One last season.
The move is linked to Boro's sale of winger Morgan Whittaker to Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids, with the Championship club looking to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline.
Cozier-Duberry's departure has been facilitated by Brighton's agreement to sign Millwall forward Femi Azeez. The Nigeria international is set to join the Seagulls in a deal worth an initial £12.5m, which could rise to more than £15m with add-ons.

Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria winger Femi Azeez from Millwall.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 games last season, earning a place in the PFA Championship team of the year.
Azeez has been pushing for a move to the Premier League, with Millwall rejecting at least three bids from the Seagulls in recent weeks.
His departure would be a club record sale for Millwall, who are set to receive an initial £12.5m - potentially rising past £15m with add-ons.
