We are of course waiting for the transfer spending record to be broken. It's expected it will happen today with only £13m to go to pass the previous mark of pass £3.14bn from 12 months ago.
The signing of Lucca Brughmans for £30m will not contribute to that total as he is heading straight back out on loan, which means it will contribute to next summer's spending.

Liverpool have completed the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk in a deal that could be worth up to £30m including add-ons.
Brughmans has agreed a six-year contract with Liverpool and will remain at Genk on loan this season before moving to Anfield ahead of the 2027-28 campaign.
The Belgian keeper, who is 6ft 7in, has started all four of Genk's games this season and has represented his country at youth level.
BBC Sport understands that there is an initial fee alongside follow up payments and the figure of around £30m is at the top of what can be achieved.
Former Newcastle defender John Anderson on Nick Woltemade's loan to Juventus:
"We felt like he might be better off going to another European league where the pace of the game isn't as quick, isn't as physical, may well suit him more. I think when Fernandez-Pardo came in it just opened the door for Nick Woltemade to get away to play regular first-team football because I don't think it was ever going to be the case here."
"Osula has moved ahead of him. Wissa has had an outstanding start to the season and with Fernandez-Pardo coming in you would think that he was going to jump ahead of him as well. So I think it benefits both sides to be quite honest."

Another striker whose Premier League career has not amounted to much. The German scored 11 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions and provided six assists.
It comes after Juventus also announced the signing of Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham on an initial loan deal earlier today.
Thoughts, Newcastle fans?
Newcastle have confirmed Nick Woltemade has moved to Seria A side Juventus on loan for the rest of the 2026-27 season.
The German forward featured in 51 games and scored 11 goals in all competitions last season under Eddie Howe.
The 24-year-old joined the Magpies in August 2025 in a club record £69m deal.
Coventry City

The 26-year-old played in 41 games in all competitions during Frank Lampard's promotion season with the Sky Blues, but he has not featured in the opening two games of the Premier League season.

They say the squad Keith Andrews selected for his first two Premier League matches will remain unchanged.
As for Bournemouth, they are completely finished unless a team comes in to sign defender Max Aarons.
Reports linking Aarons with a move to Leeds United have proved wide of the mark.
The Bees and the Cherries are a picture of calm on an otherwise manic Premier League deadline day.

He made 113 appearances for the Toffees across all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing three assists.
His departure leaves Everton fairly light in the striker department with Thierno Barry their main man now with Iliman Ndiaye nearing a move to Manchester City.

All quiet on actual concrete news at Everton but plenty going on behind the scenes in these final few hours before the deadline.
The medical department is busy playing its part in deals for Jack Grealish, coming back on loan from Manchester City, United States striker Falorin Balogun signing in a £40m deal from AS Monaco and then Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who appears to be the solution to Everton's seemingly endless search for a right-back. He is costing about £3m from Lyon.
These are the formalities Everton fully expect to complete.
The trail has gone cold on the potential return of Richarlison to his former club from Spurs. That deal, which at one point looked on at £25m with Iliman Ndiaye heading to north London in a £60m move, looks very much off.
Ndiaye, of course, is on his way to Manchester City in a £65m transfer.
So, in the last hour we've brought you the news that Enzo Fernandez is heading to Manchester City for a joint British record transfer fee of £125m. But what else has happened this transfer deadline day?

The transfer deadline might be set for 11pm, but clubs may have until 1am to get their deals done.
It is all about the deal sheet.
A deal sheet is used when clubs reckon they might be struggling to get all the details sewn up on deadline.
In effect, it sends the transfer into extra time.
A deal sheet can be submitted to the Premier League between 9pm and 11pm.
It's a simple form which sets out the name of the player, the two clubs and the financial terms of the proposed transfer.
Once the deal sheet has been submitted, clubs have two hours to complete the transfer.
Such is the way that some deals work, it might be Wednesday morning before the clubs make the announcement - but they do have to have been wrapped up by 1am at the latest.
Last summer, Manchester City did not confirm the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris St-Germain until the morning after the window closed.

Chelsea are playing down the need to sign a replacement before Tuesday's transfer deadline despite the sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City.
Following the departure of the 25-year-old Argentina international, Chelsea can point to more than £425m raised through player sales, including add-ons. Loan fees are expected to take that figure closer to £500m.
The club explored moves for Roma midfielder Manu Kone, Monaco's Lamine Camara and another unnamed Premier League player. However, Chelsea felt the £125m fee received for Fernandez could lead to inflated demands in the transfer market.
Chelsea also retain a number of midfield options, including Moises Caicedo, Reece James, Valentin Barco, Romeo Lavia and Jordan Henderson.
