Mo Faal's penalty kick isn't too bad but Bentley reads it well to dive and parry it away with his shin. Quick thinking.

If he's trying to knit together a case for the number one position, that's quite the statement to add.

Yerson Mosquera is pleading his innocence, and the referee is sending him away, he has already made his decision.

That could have been a red card, and I think even he thought he was in a worse position than he has found himself him - no card.

Oo-er.

There was something of a gasp as Yerson Mosquera is involved in a tangle with an onrushing Mo Faal.

The Wolves man claims there's no foul but the referee doesn't agree and there's no VAR to give him a second chance.

Wolves skipper Toti's clearance is a heart-rate riser.

He delivers it right at George Hall but fortunately for the men in gold, Port Vale aren't able to get a shot off at the net.

Instead it goes up the other end for Kieran Tripper to find Yerson Mosquera. He looks powerful in the air but can't find the target.

It is surprising that it is 0-0, with the chances that there have been in this game.

You have to say that Wrexham have had the better chances, and Sol Brynn has made some really good saves.

This won't be our starting lineup, but the way he wants to play we will need to be a lot more solid if he wants to play this old school-style football.

Still awaiting a first goal as the whistle goes at the Riverside.

Wrexham forward Sam Smith had the best chance of the half only to be denied by Sol Brynn, while Will Lankshear has had a couple of moments at the other end.

But overall pretty even and not too surprising given how close they were in the Championship last season.

Could be a very long evening for Port Vale fans if this second half picks up where the first left off.

It's probably safe to assume we are going to see some changes and, perhaps, an old favourite's return to the Molineux...

Middlesbrough need to find a way of attacking, but if it breaks down they aren't left open to the attack.

Already in this game we have seen how open Boro have been, when they go forward.

There has been too many chances for Wrexham.

An opportunity for Will Lankshear as he rises highest to meet Callum Brittain's ball to the back post.

But it's a difficult angle and Lankshear gets a bit too much height on his header and it drops just over Danny Ward's goal.

Another threatening moment from Wrexham as the ball is loose just outside the area.

Ollie Rathbone is quickest to it as he eyes up his shot but he'll be slightly disappointed in dragging it a yard or so wide of the far post.

And now Sam Smith, tan and all, has a glorious chance to put his team in front.

It's a terrific reverse ball from strike partner Nathan Broadhead and Smith holds his position to stay onside, but he can't beat Sol Brynn in the one-v-one.
