Ipswich Town boss Gary O'Neil on signing striker Zian Flemming from Burnley late on transfer deadline day:

"It's an important one. Emersonn and Chuba Akpom have been excellent, but we had to get a third.

"He has scored Premier League goals in a newly-promoted side before. He is an excellent addition and brings more competition for places.

"He brings physical attributes, he is a good lad, he leads well from the front, trains hard. It is important to recruit the right type of person."

O'Neil added he was always "confident" the deal would get done: "I was up to date throughout Monday and Tuesday, but this had been brewing for a while. We always felt like we would get him."

Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town boss Gary O'Neil provided an update on his squad's fitness after Sunday's defeat at Manchester United.

Summer signing Emersonn is "fine" after landing awkwardly and jarring his knee at Old Trafford, while Jaden Philogene is "close" to a return.

O'Neil added he has "no fresh injury concerns", but Azor Matusiwa and Jack Taylor remain unavailable.

Ipswich Town

We heard from Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola earlier.

Now it is time for Ipswich boss Gary O'Neil, who will go head to head with Iraola at Portman Road on Friday night.

Ipswich started their return to the Premier League by beating Sunderland at home, but lost followed that up by losing heavily at Manchester United.

The three points places Ipswich in 12th spot, above Liverpool (two points).

Gary O'Neil's side are also through to the third round of the League Cup after beating Leicester City.

Ipswich have signed 14 players during the transfer window, including Chuba Akpom and Cedric Kipre, whose deals became permanent upon promotion to the Premier League.

Their total expenditure of £171m means Town spent more on new signings than the likes of Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus and back-to-back European champions Paris St-Germain.

Sunderland

Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke on Brighton: "Many new players but the DNA is still there. The same manager, the same processes and style of play. I think they are quite similar, of course players always influence the game. When players with different skills comes in, it changes the game also a little bit.

"But overall, I see the same handwriting. They played a good second-half of the last season, qualified for Europe. Impressive start to the season. The first games were impressive. Many many games unbeaten, the most recent loss was against Chelsea. They are in good shape, Fabian [Hurzeler] has done a fantastic job there.

"We travel very respectful, knowing about our records away at Brighton, it is also not perfect in the last years, so we have to be at our very best to be competitive."

Sunderland

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris on Juan Riquelme Angulo's role in the squad: "He will fill this third striker position and I think it's important to match the demand of this position. You have to be an underdog, be patient, but also with the potential to play because it's important across the different competitions we will have."

Crystal Palace

More from Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage on what happened with Malick Fofana joining Sunderland on deadline day: "It depended on the minute of the day, it changed a lot. I am really proud and happy with the club, we fought a lot. Sometimes you cannot give more. We gave our best. At the end of the day the player chose his criteria and I wish him and them the best because he's a good guy and a good player.

"You have a special relationship with previous players but now I have to respect the fact he is not with us. I have to respect his decision."

On if Fofana spoke to Sage about why he chose Sunderland: "No, he just gave me his answer late in the evening. It's not important to know."

On how he will deal with Ismaila Sarr, who remains at the club: "Like every bad situation, time does the job and we need time for that. He needs time too. First of all he needs to recover because he was and is injured. He is our player and we are happy with that.

On how Sarr is mentally: "He has to digest for sure because it's a dream for a lot of players to play with this kind of club [Liverpool]. He had a good opportunity but in the end it didn't work. If he wants to continue, you have to have a good season with us as he did last year. We know he needs time"

Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke on team news and Jo Rodon's injury: "Bad news with [Rodon], serious hamstring injury. He will be out for, at the moment the assessment is eight to 10 weeks. So he will definitely not play before the next international break. Also probably not the first games after international break.

"It is a big blow for us because he is a key player for us. But it is football and sometimes you have to deal with injuries. He will definitely miss the next eight to 10 weeks probably."

Sunderland

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris on the Black Cats' transfer deadline day: "We ticked our three boxes. The first one with Kevin Danso and Thomas Meunier, top-level experience.

"The second one with Malick Fofana and Dayann Methalie, young with proven experience.

"The third one is for the huge potential prospects with Juan Riquelme Angulo and Jules Ahoka. We have to manage the different positions because it’s already a big challenge.

"In the end we are happy."

Sunderland

Sunderland manager Regis le Bris is another Premier League boss talking now.

The Black Cats started their season with a defeat at Ipswich, but secured a victory in their second game with victory over Fulham.

Three points put them in 11th place.

They signed three players on deadline day, including Kevin Danso on loan from Tottenham, and will face unbeaten Brentford next in the Premier League.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth are sitting 14th in the table with just a point after Marco Rose missed out on a dream start to the Premier League season.

The German manager knew he had big shoes to fill after taking over from Andoni Iraola, who guided them to a sixth-placed finish and the Europa League last season.

The Cherries conceded two late goals against Manchester City to miss out on three points in a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad.

It was another late goal that cost Bournemouth the three points after conceding a late goal against Everton in last weekend's 1-1 draw at home.

A fairly quiet transfer window for Bournemouth, with just the four players being brought in, Antonio Silva, Juanlu Sanchez, Alvaro Rodriguez and Michele di Gregorio.

They were broadly like-for-like swaps for Marcos Senesi, Alex Jimenez, Enes Unal and Will Dennis.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth's Marco Rose seems like a very satisfied manager.

He's talking now about keeping the club's best players - such as Alex Scott, Eli Junior Kroupi and Rayan.

He says they understood the importance of staying at the club, for one more year at least, to continue their growth and development.

Rose is "quite pleased with everything".

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke on new signings Jean-Matteo Bahoya and Melvin Bard: "Good players. Melvin, obviously an experienced player on a really good level, he has played many games. The left-back or left wing-back cover that we needed. Still a very good age, of course it is still early doors because he has just had more or less two training sessions together with us.

"With Jean-Matteo, a young prospect who played in Germany. Very great character, very quick player. Lots of potential, he can take players on. Very young at age so he is in a different role compared to Melvin who is a bit more of a senior experienced player.

"Jean-Matteo is like an exciting young project. I am pleased that both of them are with us right now."

Leeds United

Daniel Farke's Leeds kicked off the season with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest and a 1-1 draw against Brentford, pushing them up to 8th in the table.

Leeds had a busy deadline day with Largie Ramazani, Sam Chambers and Wilfried Gnonto all leaving on season-long loans.

They brought in defender Melvin Bard on loan from Nice with the option to make the move permanent.

They also brought in Jean-Matteo Bahoya on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt with an option to buy.

United defender Jaka Bijol says the club have emerged from the summer transfer window with "a really strong squad".

Crystal Palace

We promised you some Crystal Palace.

Here's manager Pierre Sage on whether Ismaila Sarr will play against Fulham: "Sarr needs time to recover, he is injured at the moment."

On Jean-Philippe Mateta's availability: "They cannot play. As I said last time, Mateta is injured, now for three weeks.

“Everyone else [is ok] apart from our long-term injuries; Chadi [Riad] and [JP] Mateta, every other player has recovered well.”

Hull City

Sergej Jakirovic on Hull's strong start to the season: "If you offer me one point before the [Manchester United] game I will accept this, but after our game it's fully deserved that we won this game.

"It's a great signal also for us that we have to continue like this, hard work and also our team spirit is very high, which is also important, so for these new players as soon as possible that we have this unit in the team.

"This is why players from last season are extremely important because they know this feeling and I hope these new players will fit in the group as soon as possible."

Hull City
