Much better from Liverpool since going behind. Bradley Barcola is asking plenty of questions of the Arsenal backline and already you get the sense that the next goal will be so important.

Inches away from a second for Arsenal as Milos Kerkez stands off Noni Madueke.
He then pops it back for Bruno Guimaraes to strike but it's always curling away from the far post.

Barcola has come to life. Suddenly he's started to get on the ball and that is exactly what he has to do. Gakpo is trying to have more of an influence as well.

Gabriel should have been booked if only for the influence on young players watching!

Arsenal being Arsenal already. Gabriel should have been booked for simulation.
Gary, Essex
Gabriel is an embarrassment. If VAR review an incident and think a player is trying to con (cheat) the referee they should allow the referee to review the incident and allow them to issue a yellow card. It's effectively simulation (cheating) and needs eradicating from the game.

This is a real test for Arsenal now as Bradley Barcola cuts another back into the box but it's half-cleared.
Cody Gakpo then gives Jurrien Timber a little shove and the referee gives the foul.

A near enough perfect start to this game from Arsenal.
Incredible energy from Rice as usual to overlap for the goal and he's really imposing himself on this game.

Bradley Barcola has come alive and he wins another corner.

Liverpool work it short and Bradley Barcola whips in a delicious ball but Alexander Isak can't reach it.
Jurrien Timber had a fistful of his shirt but nothing from it.

There's a bit of chat between the Arsenal players with Rice telling them to calm down.

Arsenal clear the corner but Liverpool come again.
The home side will know they need a spell of sustained pressure here.

A disaster for Liverpool and a disaster from Alisson. He makes an awful mistake as he tries to play the ball out. It entices Arsenal and allows them to jump on Liverpool.
There is still a lot to do from then. They work it on the right side and it's a simplest of tap ins from Havertz.

It's a really well-worked goal but it all comes from Alisson's mistake.
Declan Rice's overlap is spot on and once Noni Madueke finds him, he threads a perfect delivery through to Kai Havertz.
Arsenal have started the stronger but they've been gifted by Liverpool there.

Now it's Arsenal's turn to give the ball away and Bradley Barcola jumps on it but his touch is poor and Declan Rice clears for a corner.

Need to start picking it up now, Liverpool. They're all over the shop.

Brilliant from the Gunners.
Liverpool look really nervous and they lose the ball at the back, allowing Arsenal to spring.
Declan Rice gets on the overlap and plays a beauty of a ball across goal for Kai Havertz to slide in.

Virgil van Dijk wins the ball in front of Kai Havertz and he makes sure he takes a bit of the Arsenal man at the same time.
Havertz goes down holding his face and the Anfield crowd isn't best pleased.

Christos Tzolis looks to go on the outside of Ronald Araujo in the Liverpool box but Araujo leans on him and sees it out.

Kai Havertz is now the all-time leading German goalscorer in the Premier League (46 goals), overtaking Ilkay Gundogan (45)
Arsenal took advantage of Manchester City's defeat by Brighton as they edged a thrilling encounter at Liverpool to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Back-to-back losses for City handed the Gunners the opportunity to seize control of the title race, but they faced a difficult task against a rapidly improving Reds.
They broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Declan Rice's ball across the face of goal was turned in by Kai Havertz at the back post.
But after that Arsenal had to withstand wave after wave of Liverpool attacks for the rest of the first half as the home side looked to get back level.
David Raya just got to Virgil van Dijk's flick-on when Alexander Isak was set to pounce and the Reds had two penalty claims waved away before Florian Wirtz crashed a free-kick against the crossbar.
Liverpool maintained their dominance early in the second half but Arsenal's defence had tightened up considerably and left very few opportunities for the Reds to exploit.
The introduction of Myles Lewis-Skelly saw Arsenal regain the momentum in the latter stages and only a brilliant one-handed save by Alisson prevented Christos Tzolis making it 2-0 with a fine first-time strike towards the far corner.
Ultimately, Havertz's early goal was enough for Arsenal to take all three points as they celebrated a first win at Liverpool in the Premier League since 2012.
The loss for Liverpool means they are fifth but nine points behind leaders Arsenal.
More to follow.
