Such a journey for Trey Nyoni. He made his Liverpool debut as a 16-year-old under Jurgen Klopp in 2024 and after the departure of Curtis Jones in the summer, Nyoni has seized his opportunity in style.

He was arguably the standout story of Liverpool's pre-season tour and Andoni Iraola has constantly been full of praise for the 19-year-old since.

Against Chelsea in midweek, Nyoni had more touches than anyone else on the pitch. Now it's time see how he fares in his first Premier League start against none other than the reigning champions.

    Sutton's predictions

Liverpool proved me wrong against Brighton last week, because they didn't just win, they played well too.

After conceding so many goals last season, you can see they have really tightened things up. Arsenal don't give much away either, so this is going to be very close.

Alexander Isak is scoring goals again for the Reds, and they will be full of confidence coming into this game.

You could make a case for it ending up a repeat of the result we saw at the end of last season, when Dominik Szoboszlai's brilliant free-kick meant Liverpool edged a 1-0 win.

I do think we will see the same scoreline, just with a different winner.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-1

When they do play Arsenal at home, why would they ever perceive themselves to be an underdog? They've won this game [at Anfield] so many times that you can't just have the idea in your head that because Arsenal are champions - yes they are the most consistent, but there are certain situations, where you will really like your chances.

It doesn't matter who goes to Anfield. They'll really and truly be up for it. At times they have a style of play that will sort of matchup against an Arsenal side.

There's certainly a sense of optimism around Anfield today.

It's fair to say that Andoni Iraola has already had a positive start to life at Liverpool but a result today would deliver a real statement to the rest of the Premier League.

"It has also felt like the connection with Anfield is growing and that is something that gives me a lot of satisfaction," Iraola writes in his programme notes.

This is the fourth home game in a row for Liverpool and having won the previous three, Iraola will be hoping for more of the same.
