As soon as it gets called back for VAR, you know it's going against Everton, we haven't had an overturn go in our favour since the beginning of last season.

Brennan Johnson is offside, not sure why it needed the screen check.

    As we were.

We (Palace) still look like an underdog team in a less competitive league playing with no real structure, betting on pure frantic fury. A reflection of the manager we brought in and a recipe for disaster.

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Nottingham Forest

    Daniel Gabbidon
Former Crystal Palace defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 at Selhurst Park

Liam Delap has to score. He goes for power. It's point-blank range and Walter Benitez doesn't know much about it.

It sits nicely for him and if he just side foots it down it's 2-0.

  6. VAR

    Hull City 0-1 Everton

Referee Michael Salisbury has been sent to the screen for a look.

Tricky one this because Brennan Johnson is initially offside.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:36 BST

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Nottingham Forest

    What. A. Save.

Forest look certain to score a second but Morgan Gibbs-White pings off the crossbar. It looks like Liam Delap will surely fire his side ahead as the ball drops to him and he strikes it on the volley but it's a brilliant save from Walter Benitez to keep the score at 1-0.

It's actually a pretty poor miss from Delap, too.

GOAL - Hull City 0-1 Evertonpublished at 14:34 BST

    Brennan Johnson (34 mins)

VAR will have a look but Everton score... for now!

Thierno Barry goes up for the challenge with Konstantinos Tzolakis and the Hull keeper fumbles the ball.

But the ball breaks to Brennan Johnson, who looks to be offside before he fires the opener in.

Oooh, a spot of danger for Everton there as Matt Crooks heads the corner back into the mixer but James Tarkowski does really well to get it clear.

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Yeremy Pino makes a darting run through the middle of the park but he runs into traffic before he can get to the penalty area.

The hosts then give the ball away cheaply and Forest get up the other end but Morgan Gibbs-White can only strike wide with the outside of his boot.

    Hull City 0-0 Everton

Thierno Barry does really well to win the header but tries to go on the outside of Semi Ajayi and gets absolutely nothing out of the Hull defender.

Barry even throws his legs out in that sort of diving motion but even gave up on that.

An xG of 0.04 for Hull so far today.

It can only get better. Surely.

Who's marking Daniel Munoz? Crystal Palace are going to pay for this if this continues to happen.

Munoz is free and all on his own. It's not an easy finish. It's bouncing and he tries to place it on the half-volley.

  14. 'Not enough quality from Everton'published at 14:28 BST

    Hull City 0-0 Everton

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Not enough quality from Everton here, when they go forward, Jack Grealish is having one of those games where there's too much handling on the ball.

For all the quality they've got, they still need to get the ball in there.

Ooooh. A beautiful ball to the back post, it's practically on a plate for Daniel Munoz but he can't convert against his former club.

What a story that would have been.

  16. Postpublished at 14:28 BST

Thierno Barry manages to get his head on the ball from the Everton corner but he actually heads it away from goal.

  17. Postpublished at 14:27 BST

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall finds Jack Grealish to the left of the box. He takes a touch and looks to fizz is across for Thierno Barry but Hull get a body in the way.

Just wondering at what point today Palace are going to stop trying to play out from the back. It's embarrassingly bad.

I really like the strength of Hull’s bench today. A real mix of quality, experience and excitement to come in the second half. Confident of a 2-1 win!
