The chances keep coming for Dundee and there is so much space being afforded their attacking players.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:22 BST 8 August

That should have been 2-0 to Dundee!

Some slackness in the Aberdeen defence results in Joe Westley getting a run at goal and his initial shot is blocked by goalkeeper Marius Muller.

Westley retrieves and his deflected cross is met by Simon Murray on the volley, but Muller gathers the weak effort.

    A big let-off for Aberdeen.

    That's a top-class goal, it really is.

Inch-perfect ball, a tremendous ball into the box. Joe Westley attacks it really well and guides it with the right boot into the bottom corner.

    Dundee 0-0 Aberdeen

    BBC Scotland at Dens Park

After a very lively start by Aberdeen, the visitors have almost been undone a couple of times by some slack play at the back, which will certainly give the hosts a bit of confidence.

  17. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 8 August

    Dundee 0-0 Aberdeen

Joe Bevan threatens on the Dundee right after getting the break of the ball.

The striker has time to size it up and gets away a shot, but it is tame and wide - you have to hit the target from there.
