  1. McInnes' formation change questionedpublished at 22:01 BST 13 August

FT: Rangers 1-1 Jagiellonia Bialystok (agg 2-3)

Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

There has got to be an assumption that Thelo Aasgaard is injured.

Everything we spoke about at half-time was, the shape looks decent, they were getting the ball to the wider areas, Gassama and Yokota were looking really dangerous.

Then Derek McInnes went to 4-4-2 at half-time, and Rangers lost control of the game.

  2. McInnes already facing a crisispublished at 21:55 BST 13 August

FT: Rangers 1-1 Jagiellonia Bialystok (agg 2-3)

Derek McInnes changed to a back four at the break, with midfielder Thelo Aasgaard replacing with Ross McCrorie, playing an unfamiliar left-back role, and Rangers lost all fluidity.

McCrorie also looked to be at fault as Nik Prelec headed Jagiellonia level on the night and ahead on aggregate.

No matter how many changes McInnes made thereafter, the anticipated late pressure on the Jagiellonia penalty box failed to materialise.

McInnes earned plenty of plaudits for taking Hearts to within minutes of a shock Scottish title last season.

What a difference a few months make and the former Ibrox midfielder is already facing a crisis - two Scottish Premiership games without a win, now out of the Europa League, all with a bit of a whimper.

  3. 'No way to gloss over Rangers' start'published at 21:50 BST 13 August

FT: Rangers 1-1 Jagiellonia Bialystok (agg 2-3)

    Andy Halliday
Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It has been a poor start, there is no way to really gloss it over.

And as much as Rangers are saying there are still three, four, or five signings still to come in, they have to be their best players, they have to be guaranteed starters and they have to be upgrades on what they've got at this moment in time.

The current squad that's available should be enough to beat Dundee United, it should be enough to beat Hibs, and to be honest, it should be enough to beat Jagiellonia Bialystok.

  4. Who will Rangers play next in Europe?published at 21:47 BST 13 August

FT: Rangers 1-1 Jagiellonia Bialystok (agg 2-3)

Rangers will also be in the Conference League play-offs with Hearts, Hibs and Motherwell.

They will be facing Jablonec after the Czech side dispatched Latvian outfit RFS.

Hibernian head coach David Gray: "I'm delighted for the players. A brilliant time to get our first clean sheet of the season.

"Don't underestimate how big an achievement that is against a really good side.

"It wasn't a brilliant game, but bodies on the line and our players stepped up. A really positive win, especially off the back of Sunday.

"We found a way to get through and I'm delighted for the players - they thoroughly deserve it.

"First half there wasn't much in it, it was a flat game. Our shape was good and we restricted them to very little.

"Over the course of the two legs, I don't think anyone could say we don't deserve to go through.

"The players have earned the right to have another go at the play-offs.

"You see the strength of the squad with the players coming off the bench. We've had a brilliant start to the season.

"The important thing now is to recover the players, cool them down, and they can be proud of what they've achieved."

Hearts get a home draw against Portuguese giants Benfica.

A far cry from their demolition in Lisbon last week - they looked a markedly better side.

Tomas Magnusson gave them a deserved lead after a bright start to the second half before Dodi Lukebakio's prompt leveller.

Plenty of positives to take for Wouter Vrancken's side.

What did Rangers fans think Derek would do? He won a League Cup 12 years ago and the Scottish first division twice. He managed to come second to a Celtic team that for some reason played an injured goalkeeper for months. It would be a shame to see a guy lose his job, but he could be sacked by Monday!

    Stanley

Sack McInnes tonight - absolutely out his depth. Not got a clue.

Has McInnes had a match for Rangers yet where his side haven't been booed off the park?

I foresee another trophyless season ahead for Rangers - no cohesion, no fight, no skill, nothing. Rangers are woeful.

    Alex

Rangers look as a bad as they did under Warburton in the Championship. In fact, that team would thump this one.

    Ooft, what a hit.

    Sensational strike that.

  19. CLOSE!published at 21:19 BST 13 August

Rangers 1-1 Jagiellonia Bialystock (agg 2-3)

Findlay Curtis has been lively since coming on and sends in a cross that looks like it could hand Rangers a leveller.

However, striker Bojan Miovski can only head wide from six yards.

We are about to head into stoppage time.

Claudio Braga tries a cute give-and-go with Calvin Miller, but the former misjudges the backheel on the edge of the box to the latter.

That halts yet another promising Hearts attack.
