On a Thursday night, Rangers are quite often at their best.

If you give a performance that can translate to the fans and vice versa, then I think Rangers will have too much for Jagiellonia.

Derek McInnes says Rangers are "playing with fire" amid a defensive shortage, as well as a long-term injury suffered by Youssef Chermiti.

But the manager needs to pull a win from somewhere after a three-game start without one.

Last week's first-leg defeat in Poland came between a draw at Dundee United and Sunday's shock loss to Hibs.

Anything other than a victory at Ibrox this evening would drop McInnes' men into the Conference League play-offs and extend an underwhelming introduction to his tenure.

I thought Aasgaard would come back into the side, he's probably one player that Rangers have that is capable in central areas of doing something a wee bit different, showing a wee bit of a spark.

Rangers look poised to revert to a back three, with Dujon Sterling coming into the starting line-up alongside Olwethu Makhanya and Emmanuel Fernandez as Derek McInnes makes five changes from the side that lost 2-1 at home to Hibs on Sunday.

While the temperatures here in the North Macedonian capital have relented somewhat, it remains around 30C as the players warm up.

I have just been informed there will be no water breaks as the temperature is apparently not hot enough!

The pitch looks fine but, speaking to one or two of the players after last night, it appears to be soft underneath and a bit bumpy in parts.

That said, this is a huge opportunity for Hibs to progress to the play-off round and maintain their chances of making history by reaching the league phase of a European competition for the first time.

They proved last season, when they won in Belgrade and put in sterling performances against Legia Warsaw and Midtjylland on the road, that they can cope at this level.

An intriguing 90 minutes - or possibly even longer - awaits in the heat of Skopje.

Hibs bounce to North Macedonia after stunning Rangers on Sunday and head coach David Gray says his players "have to be confident" of progression.

The Leith side will have to deal with intense heat, though, with temperatures expected to be around 30C by kick-off.

Gray thinks the conditions could have an impact on the tempo and intensity of the game but added: "You always have to be confident. I'm confident in my group.

"But just because we won the first leg doesn't mean this is going to be easy. We need to be at our very best to give ourselves the best chance."

He also expects Shkendija to be a different proposition on home soil and believes they will be "more aggressive", while midfielder Jamie McGrath wants to reward travelling Hibs support with a positive result.
