    Barcelona 1-0 Aston Villa

First real chance of the night for Aston Villa as they break quickly and Nicolas Jackson's low ball into the box finds Johan Manzambi, but he scuffs his effort wide.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:21 GMT 3 November

    Man Utd 0-2 Roma

    It should be 3-0!

It's an absolute mess at the back from Manchester United and Donyell Malen can not believe he hasn't scored there.

  3. 'It's incredible of how much they have fallen'published at 20:20 GMT 3 November

    Alan Shearer

You have to put them in the bracket where they are [in danger of relegation in the Premier League].

They have had a disastrous start, I think they are one point off third bottom.

There are no signs at the minute of any improvement, the manager is under huge pressure, directors are under huge pressure, it's incredible of how much they have fallen.

    Barcelona 1-0 Aston Villa

This is a real test for Ian Maatsen, who is tasked with trying to keep Lamine Yamal quiet on the right flank. Almost all of Barcelona's attacks are going down that side.

PENALTY - ROMApublished at 20:18 GMT 3 November

    Man Utd 0-1 Roma

Oh dear. This is surely a penalty for Roma. The ball comes off the arm of Ayden Heaven and the referee points for a spot-kick.

VAR are taking a look but no doubt about this.

  7. PSG three up earlypublished at 20:17 GMT 3 November

    Villarreal 0-3 Paris St-Germain

Desire Doue celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Well, that escalated quickly. The two-time reigning champions are three up already!

Villarreal had started well but they fail to deal with a corner, the ball drops to Joao Neves and he finishes from close range to put Paris St-Germain ahead.

Three minutes later, Luis Enrique's side are gifted a second. Villarreal goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi with a poor kick out, straight to a PSG player and Maghnes Akliouche tees up Desire Doue to finish.

PSG are done there, though, more intense pressing sees them win the ball back high up once more and Senny Mayulu slams in the third. Three goals in four minutes.

Whistles already from the home fans.

United didn't concede a goal in the opening 4 minutes. Mission accomplished.

No, they made it to the 11th minute this time, Gideon.

    Manchester United 0-0 Roma

    Alan Shearer

That's been an ongoing problem for Manchester United. Lose the ball, and all of a sudden [look] how open they are.

That one ball into Matías Soule, and it was just a question on whether he could get his touch right, compose himself, and get his finish away and he did it so so well.

  10. Postpublished at 20:16 GMT 3 November

    Man Utd 0-1 Roma

Almost the ideal response from the hosts as Bruno Fernandes' ball runs all the way across the six-yard box and looks as though it might just reach the feet of Matheus Cunha but Gianluca Mancini gets there first to prevent the shot at the back stick.

    Good defending.

  11. 'Positive response by Villa'published at 20:13 GMT 3 November

    Barcelona 1-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live at Nou Camp

That was so well worked from Aston Villa. Two set-pieces Villa have put in and they've done so well to find spaces.

It's a positive response since going behind.

Positive response by Aston Villa as Matty Cash sees a decent strike deflected behind.

  13. goal

GOAL - Man Utd 0-1 Romapublished at 20:12 GMT 3 November

    Matías Soule (11 mins)

How has Matías Soule got so much space here?!

The ball is switched across from left to right by Rodrigo Mora and Soule is all on his own with the penalty area to himself. He tucks into the bottom corner and it's a good finish but how on earth has he been allowed to take it.

Roma are ahead with their first chance of the game.

Roma give the ball away in a dangerous area and it comes to Bryan Mbeumo but he can't get the ball under control and the visitors snuff out the attack.

The rain may well have kept a few fans away this evening but the Nou Camp is far from full.

The top tier is still under construction and the stadium is a building side in most places with two cranes still towering above.

Barca are due to leave again at the end of the season to play at the Olympic Stadium before returning once everything is completed in January 2028.

    Barcelona 1-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock

You so often see teams play it out from the back to beat the press. It's a dangerous game.

It's a blind pass into Lamine Yamal and he bends it into the left corner. He is an absolute superstar.

    Lamine Yamal

You cannot give the ball away like that with Lamine Yamal lurking!

Zion Suzuki plays the ball short to João Gomes, who panics because of Barcelona's high press and he plays a blind ball across the face of goal straight to Yamal, who takes full advantage to curl home a fine strike.

    Man Utd 0-0 Roma

Donyell Malen, the former Aston Villa forward, is the man Manchester United will need to look out for tonight.

He has bagged 11 goals in 13 appearances for Roma across all competitions this season.

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:09 GMT 3 November

    Barcelona 0-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa have two players on Lamine Yamal but that also doubles the chance of them fouling him - that ends up the case as Emiliano Buendía catches the Barcelona forward late.

The hosts have a free-kick right on the edge of the box and Raphinha fancies it, but he whips his effort wide of the far post.
