    Sussex 393 & 41-1 v Surrey 321 - lead by 113

The runs are starting to tick over steadily for Sussex, who were down to about one an over when the seamers were on.

A good line and length from Mahipal Lomror even so as Charlie Tear tries to create room to push away through the of side.

Two runs off that over and Sussex looking relatively comfortable.

    Derbys v Kent 88-5 (Target: 434)

This has been Derbyshire's morning session, no question - but Kent pair Ekansh Singh and Chris Benjamin have quietly put together a 50-run partnership since Ben Aitchison's spree of wickets earlier.

Singh has delivered a couple of mighty maximums, but it has otherwise been sensible cricket from the pair, punishing the odd bad ball, which has stemmed the flow of Derbyshire dominance a little.

Still, 346 are required so survival remains the priority.

A lone slip in for Rahul Chahar, bowling round the wicket and a full toss is tucked away to mid-wicket by Tom Haines for a single.

Single to Charlie Tear in the leg side.

A flowing drive from Tom Haines but the sweeper (Ryan Patel) is out and that's only going to bring a single.

Here's Mahipal Lomror again. Charlie Tear is forward, pushing into the off side for a single.

Single to Tom Haines - whipped to leg. One more to Tear to square leg and Haines gets one to mid-wicket.

With the spinners bowling one would expect three more overs at least till lunch.

Fraser Sheat starts a new over with a bouncer which Manny Lumsden tries to pull and the ball only just misses his gloves as it flies through to the keeper.

A nice shot down the ground by Lumsden from the next one and although he is denied four by a tag-team save on the boundary, they run through for three.

Spin at both ends. Here comes leg spinner Rahul Chahar.

Straight away there's an appeal for caught behind as Tom Haines tries to scoop the ball away to fine leg. Not out.

He gets a single behind square on the leg side off the fourth ball.

Charlie Tear is anchored to the crease, cutting and missing.

He'll get a run off the last ball of the over, a googly, into the on side.

Callum Parkinson does it again, wickets in successive overs!

The first ball of his latest over and Ben Geddes decides to try to hit him out of the ground.

He comes down the pitch but only sends it very high and it holds up in the wind.

Mayank Agarwal runs in from the long-off boundary and takes the catch to big applause from the home fans.

They now sense they're on the brink!

Here comes Mahipal Lomror to bowl his left-arm spin - from the Sea End.

Charlie Tear goes back and across to push into the off side.

Turn here as Tear is beaten outside off stump.

The fourth ball is worked away to fine leg for one. A single to Tom Haines through mid-wicket.

    Durham v Middlesex 166-5 - target 424

Virtually all Middlesex's hopes of not losing this game last all with Ben Geddes.

He steers a Ben Raine delivery down past gully for four and then runs one the next ball to bring up his 50 off 69 balls.

That is his third of the season.

    Notts ringing the changes now.

Just one over for Liam Patterson-White and Fraser Sheat is back.

Scott Currie drives pleasantly but cannot beat mid-off.

He remains on 40 not out.

Matt Fisher to bowl for now but spinner Rahul Chahar is warming up.

A single to Tom Haines pushing back into the off side.

Charlie Tear leaves Fisher on width outside off - still looking for his first run.

Fisher is getting it to nip back a lot. Tear is off the mark to his 22nd ball, turned around a bit as he strokes to backward point.

    That's the 100 lead.

Spin does the trick for Durham!

Just as Ryan Higgins and Ben Geddes were starting to score freely, and Higgins has to go.

Callum Parkinson's third over does the trick as Higgins goes to cut, but he doesn't get over it sufficiently and it's well caught by Graham Clark at backward point.

Durham are now halfway towards victory.

How does Manny Lumsden handle spin?

We are about to find out as the ball is handed to Liam Patterson-White.

By the way, remember that this is the same ground on which Ashton Agar scored 98 batting at number 11 for Australia in an Ashes Test.

Lumsden won't need that many if Hampshire are to win. He is 14 not out.

Too straight from Dan Worrall and Tom Haines whips the ball away leg side for four.

Four more - this time via a ball outside off and worked away close to Tom Lawes at mid-wicket.

A flowing off drive brings a single to deep cover.

Ben Geddes was dropped in the slips earlier by Kasey Aldridge. He was on 23 at the time and it would have seen Middlesex five down.

But he and Ryan Higgins have now added 50 runs in 46 balls and are doing their best to delay Durham's promotion party on what is the third anniversary of their last promotion.

The day got off to a great start with Nathan Fernandes edging the first ball of the morning to Will Rhodes at third slip to depart on three. Kasey Aldridge took the wicket.

Rhodes then got among the action in his first over when he had Max Holden caught at first slip by Ben McKinney off his second ball. The batter was out for 32.

A stern examination from the Surrey seam bowlers here.

Matt Fisher will carry on from the Cromwell Road End.

A loose drive and a miss. No footwork. Another play and miss, this time with a wafted drive without moving from the crease.

Haines is annoyed and walks away from the crease for a moment to gather his thoughts.

Fisher drifts on into the pads and Haines flicks the ball away for one.

The return throw isn't great, handy for Charlie Tear who was a bit slow to respond to a second run, not taken.
