  1. Five-wicket haul for Ben Aitchisonpublished at 11:27 BST 11 September

    Bell-Drummond c Reece b Aitchison 12 (Derbys v Kent 38-5, target 434)

Ben Aitchison has done it! Within an hour of coming into the attack this morning, he has claimed his fifer. His figures in this innings are 6-1-19-5 and he has nine wickets in the match - they are career best First Class match figures.

Captain Daniel Bell-Drummond is the latest Kent batter to perish. He just helps the ball to Luis Reece at backward point having slashed at a ball earlier in the same over which went for four.

  2. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:26 BST 11 September

    Durham v Middlesex 105-4 - target 424

Durham should be halfway to glory, but Kasey Aldridge shells a sitter.

Brydon Carse gets a proper edge off Ben Geddes and it's straight to Aldridge at the perfect height for a slipper, but it's and out of his hands.

It probably won't affect the outcome, but the Durham man will know that should have been taken.

    Sussex 393 & 5-0 v Surrey 321 - lead by 77

Matt Fisher is at the Cromwell Road End and shares the new ball with Dan Worrall.

Tom Haines is off the mark first ball with a clip to leg.

A slip and a gully in place. George Thomas defends. Fisher bowls a bit wider and Thomas leaves the ball.

A play and a miss ends the over - and yet more evidence of low bounce. Immaculate length from Fisher.

    Gloucestershire (212 & 169) beat Lancashire (134 & 142) by 105 runs

Gloucestershire players rush to congratulate JT Langridge for taking a Lancashire wicketImage source, Shutterstock

The Gloucestershire players can celebrate in the dressing room before they face a Friday afternoon on the M6 and M5.

Back-to-back victories for them as they collect 19 points from this deserved win at Old Trafford.

Lancashire collect only three as their batting woes continue and the gap between the two sides is now down to 18 points.

The Red Rose still have to play Durham and Kent to end a run of seven losses in nine games, while the Glosters have Middlesex and then Kent.

There is a real chance on current form that Lancashire could end bottom of the whole County Championship for the first time in the club's proud history.

    Hants 88-9 v Notts - target 178

Bowling change by Notts as Tom Giles is called up by Haseeb Hameed to replace Dillon Pennington.

Scott Currie tries to clip an inswinger to mid-wicket and collects four lucky runs as a thick edge sends the ball down to third man.

    Sussex 393 & 4-0 v Surrey 321 - lead by 76

George Thomas unleashes a neat straight drive but it hits the stumps at the other end (no deflection) for no run.

Width outside off and Thomas leaves the ball.

That ball nipped back sharply though.

A glancing stroke brings Thomas a four to fine leg.

    Holden c McKinney b Rhodes 32 (Durham v Middlesex 97-4 - target 424)

This is what you call inspired captaincy from Durham skipper Alex Lees.

He calls upon Will Rhodes for his military medium and it works second ball!

Coming round the wicket to Max Holden with the wicketkeeper up to the stumps, he gets an edge which is well caught low down at first slip.

With Kent going very badly, this could be a special day indeed for Durham.

  10. Sussex begin their second inningspublished at 11:18 BST 11 September

    Sussex 393 & 0-0 v Surrey 321

Here comes Sussex openers Tom Haines and George Thomas.

Surrey began today 99 adrift with three wickets in hand and now have a deficit of 72.

It feels like a result is possible if Sussex get a good start.

Surrey need to put this to bed.

Dan Worrall will bowl to Thomas from the Sea End.

    Muyeye c Montgomery b Aitchison 11 (Derbys v Kent 27-4, target 434)

Ben Aitchison has not been bowling for an hour yet this morning but he is already a wicket away from a five-wicket haul.

Tawanda Muyeye has only just pulled a fine shot to the square leg boundary, but here he looks to play a wristy cut shot and only picks out Matt Montgomery at third slip.

Earlier this morning he parried one to teammate Martin Andersson at second slip, but this time he pops it up in the air and claims the rebound himself.

Dillon Pennington has been finding some extra lift this morning and Scott Currie takes a painful one on the elbow.

The physio comes out, but he is ok.

  13. Postpublished at 11:11 BST 11 September

    Derbys v Kent 20-3 (Target: 434)

It has been hard going this morning for Kent's top order, but there have been a couple of drives in the last handful of balls from captain Daniel Bell-Drummond and partner Tawanda Muyeye.

When you are chasing 430, you need all the help you can get from the pitch, but in Derby it appears to have bucketed it down overnight and the outfield is painfully slow, even when the ball has some momentum.

Still, Muyeye does find the rope with a lovely cover drive.

WICKET AND SURREY ALL OUTpublished at 11:10 BST 11 September

    Fisher c Hunt b Unadkat 35 - Sussex 393 v Surrey 321

Jaydev Unadkat bowls a short ball to Dan Worrall - who ducks.

We haven't had many of those on this slow pitch. In fact quite possibly none at all.

Worrall pushes into the off side next ball for one.

Out! That's the innings wrapped up.

Matt Fisher has hit the ball straight to Sean Hunt mid-on, trying to flick away to the legside but without controlling the shot.

The lead is a very handy 72. Worrall ends on 14 not out.

    Abbott lbw Stone 1 (Hants 80-9 v Notts - target 178)

    Olly Stone strikes again.

A full length ball is too hot for Kyle Abbott as he plays across the line and the South African is on his way - bringing 17-year-old Manny Lumsden to the middle.

    Stone now has 6-20.

  16. Carse has the ballpublished at 11:09 BST 11 September

    Durham v Middlesex 88-3 - target 424

Brydon Carse has been thrown the ball by Alex Lees, and Max Holden sends him over the ropes for a maximum.

The two Middlesex batters are starting to play a few strokes.

Confident shot by Scott Currie, who pulls a short one from Dillion Pennington for four. He now has the vastly experienced Kyle Abbott with him at the crease.

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 320-9

Single to Matt Fisher off James Coles off the back foot. A bit short from the spinner there.

Coles tries a quicker ball and Worrall pushes safely into the leg side.

A short ball is hammered to the sweeper at deep cover for one.

    Lancashire 134 & 142 v Gloucestershire 212 & 169

All done in little over 30 minutes at Old Trafford.

An emphatic morning for Gloucestershire. Another sorry one for Lancashire.

With only Jimmy Anderson for company, Rocky Flintoff decides it's time to hit out. He dispatches one ball from JT Langridge for four over the top but when he tries the same next ball, he holes out to long off where Matt Taylor takes the catch.

Flintoff goes for a fine 65, Langridge finishes with a brilliant 5-51, his maiden five-wicket haul in only his second first-class game.

Great stuff from the 18-year-old batter and 20-year-old bowler.
