No early wickets for Surrey and Tom Haines moves to 53 with a back-footed push through the on side for one.

Charlie Tear sees out the over, showing plenty of promise at three for the South Coast County.

He's 34 not out and has seldom looked troubled.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Ekansh Singhpublished at 13:48 BST 11 September

    Derbys v Kent 113-5 (Target: 434)

Ekansh Singh has brought up a well earned half-century for Kent.

The all-rounder is still only 20 but has played this situation with plenty of maturity. His 50 comes off 75 balls and included two straight sixes which he connected powerfully with.

Singh's partnership with Chris Benjamin is now worth 75 and it is frustrating Derbyshire.

A change of ends for Mahipal Lomror - who takes over from an expensive Tom Lawes (28 runs off four overs) at the Cromwell Road End.

Charlie Tear defends back up the pitch.

A punch off the back foot brings a single to deep cover.

A single for Tom Haines pushed into the off side.

Tear sweeps fine for four. Sussex running to safety.

    Durham v Middlesex 210-8 - target 424

Brydon Carse greets Tom Helm with a short, sharp bouncer. Hello Tom!

A wicket-maiden for Carse and this is only a matter of time.

Durham are set to be promoted on the exact date that they last achieved the feat three years ago.

It was suggested earlier by one user that Olly Stone - who took 6-28 for Notts in their win over Hampshire - deserves a place in England's Test side. Here's another with a similar view.

I think Stone could definitely make a case for England given how ineffective Atkinson has been this year.

    Sussex 393 & 84-1 v Surrey 321 - lead by 156

Bowling change. leg spinner Rahul Chahar to bowl to Sussex skipper Tom Haines, who is on 49.

Whipped behind square on the leg side for a 77-ball 50.

    Five fours in that innings.

That's his fifth 50 of the season.

    Morgan lbw b Carse 4 (Durham v Middlesex 210 - target 424)

Brydon Carse fancies his chances against young Seb Morgan and he shows exactly why.

He decides to go fuller and with Morgan not getting forward and stuck on the crease, he's in big trouble when the ball nips back in and strikes him on the pads.

A third for Carse in this innings and an eighth in the match. Can he claim a 10-wicket haul to seal promotion?

  8. Postpublished at 13:38 BST 11 September

    Sussex 393 & 83-1 v Surrey 321 - lead by 155

Tom Haines is back and across driving through cover for a single, taking the Sussex captain to 49.

A short ball is swung away through mid-wicket by Charlie Tear for four.

Tom Lawes is struggling for rhythm with the ball a bit here.

Another four, drilled on bended knee through extra cover.

    Durham v Middlesex 208-7 - target 424

Another expensive over from Brydon Carse, which goes for seven.

But the fast bowler is striving to put the batters under pressure in the search for wickets.

In terms of time, Durham have 62 overs to grab these three wickets. Middlesex need a miraculous 216.

And it's sunny so no worries about losing anything to bad weather.

As regards the Championship title race, how many more bonus points are Warwickshire going to throw away? While the result this week was good, we again threw away two batting points - we should easily have got 450.

Spinner Mahipal Lomror bowls to Tom Haines on 47.

Played defensively off the back foot safely to forward short leg.

Haines glances a ball away behind square leg for one.

Charlie Tear punches off the back foot to extra cover. No run.

  12. 100 runs

100 up for Kentpublished at 13:33 BST 11 September

    Derbys v Kent 102-5 (Target: 434)

Ekansh Singh brings up Kent's 100 as he slaps a full toss from Shoaib Bashir straight back down the ground to the boundary.

Derbyshire are operating with spinners at both ends currently and have a short leg, a leg-slip and a silly-mid on when Bashir is bowling.

    Sussex 393 & 73-1 v Surrey 321 - lead by 145

Tom Haines drives Tom Lawes firmly to mid off and the ball is blocked by Matt Fisher.

He drives down the ground and Fisher dives across to keep it to one.

A leg stump half volley from Lawes is glanced fine by Charlie Tear for four.

A pause in play. Surrey captain Rory Burns has asked the umpires to have a look at the ball.

    No change. On we go.

    Derbys v Kent 98-5 (Target: 434)

It has been a very watchful innings by Chris Benjamin so far. At the time of writing, he has scored 18 runs but has faced 73 balls.

It has been the sort of innings, displaying grit and concentration, that captain Daniel Bell-Drummond expected from his team when speaking about the chase last night.

Sadly for Kent, the top order could not live with the new ball and the skill of Ben Aitchison, but Benjamin and Ekansh Singh (40*) have put on 60 now and are ensuring Derbyshire are having to work for their remaining wickets.

  15. 200 runs

200 up for Middlesexpublished at 13:28 BST 11 September

    Durham v Middlesex 200-7 - target 424

Teenager Seb Morgan is the new batter. He's probably a bit low in the order at nine, but the match situation is entirely against him.

He is now facing Brydon Carse after the England bowler is pulled for four by Harry Duke and then bowls four wides with a bouncer that is off the radar.

No surprise to see Carse testing the 19-year-old with the short stuff.

Then Carse goes too full and it's low full toss which Morgan calmly drives down the ground for the four to bring up his side's 200.

    Sussex 393 & 68-1 v Surrey 321 - lead by 140

Mahipal Lomror is round the wicket to Tom Haines, who turns the ball to square leg but there's no run.

He gets one whipped to mid-wicket to keep the strike and move to 46.

  17. Postpublished at 13:25 BST 11 September

Charlie Tear is back on his toes, pushing Tom Lawes into the off side for a single.

Back foot again and forced through cover for one.

Tom Lawes is fairly racing in here, getting some bounce on a length but not quite the right line.

Six runs off the over altogether - and the 50 partnership between Tear and Tom Haines arrives in 110 balls via a back foot push that runs away to deep cover.

    Callum Parkinson, stop that!

The slow left-armer bowls an absolute pearler to Zafar Gohar and Durham are three wickets away.

That's the kind of ball you dream off to a left-hander as it pitches outside off and turns sharply past the bat to hit the stumps.

Parkinson has 3-12 and he is bowling Durham to Division One.

  20. Postpublished at 13:20 BST 11 September

    Sussex 393 & 57-1 v Surrey 321 - lead by 129

Mahipal Lomror continues from the Sea End and Charlie Tear plays defensively back up the pitch.

Lomror is round the wicket and Tear cuts one away for a single.

There's a slip and forward short leg in place and Tom Haines safely pushes to the latter while defending.

The next ball is hit harder to short leg and that ball must have stung a bit. Not really a chance.
