What I love about Nawaz is it's always the first ball. Rashid is under pressure now.

    Thanks, Tim.

He's done seven overs more than required there because of my delayed train, so here's my official public apology (and thank you). I hope you enjoyed the additional time in his company...

  4. drinks break

Pakistan 161-5 at drinkspublished at 32 overs

Drinks are brought on to the field.

That's my cue to hand over to Ffion Wynne who is poised to talk you through the remainder of Pakistan's innings.

  5. Pak 160-5published at 32 overs

Three singles follow that boundary off Jamie Overton as Hasan Nawaz and Arafat Minhas attempt to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

It's just perfectly guided. He's not tried to over hit it, he's just watched the ball onto the bat. Lovely shot. His team very much need him to stay out there.

Jamie Overton back as Harry Brook shuffles his pack again.

Hasan Nawaz brings up his half-century with a controlled steer through the vacant third region, riding the bounce nicely.

I just don't think Adil Rashid's bowled that well today. I don't think we've seen Rashid at his best here. I think Will Jacks has bowled so so well, he's attacking the stumps. I just don't think Rashid has bowled that well today.

  9. Pak 154-5published at 31 overs

Adil Rashid wrestles the remainder of the over back in his favour, with four dots and just a single conceded.

It's that man Hasan again. He's opened his shoulders. He can hit a ball can't he!

  11. 6 runs

    Pak 153-5published at 30.1 overs

Into the confectionery stalls, and out again. To paraphrased the great Richie Benaud.

Hasan Nawaz finds the meat of the bat with a powerful whack across the line to Adil Rashid and the ball sails into the stands wide of deep long on.

  12. How's stat?!published at 11:16 BST 20 October

England have used the back-of-a-length and short-pitched deliveries to great effect today, taking two wickets from their 45 balls bowled shorter than 8m.

  13. 6 runs

    Pak 146-5published at 29.5 overs

Arafat Minhas opens his boundary account with a kind of flat-batted swat to a slower short-pitched delivery from Gus Atkinson which

A couple of balls later and Hasan Nawaz rocks on to his heels and hooks Atkinson over the rope for six.

  14. Pak 135-5published at 29 overs

Your wish is Harry Brook's command, Alex.

Adil Rashid returns to the fray.

Hasan Nawaz and Arafat Minhas content to milk him for singles for the time being.

Since they took Adil Rashid out of the attack England has had a really good control over the game. I think it's time to bring him back. An opportunity for Rashid now as a good option against the tailenders.

  16. Bavuma & Jansen reach lunch against Australiapublished at 11:08 BST 20 October

Well, well. South Africa are 216-6 at lunch on day three of the second Test in Gqeberha - something that did not look likely at 110-6.

Temba Bavuma and Marco Jansen have held firm, however.

Playing contrasting knocks, Bavuma is 76 not out from 189 balls and Jansen, who has never scored a professional century, has biffed his way to 72 not out from 71.

    Scorecard

  17. Pak 133-5published at 28 overs

Some promise in that innings from Saad Baig, but on a two-paced pitch Pakistan needed him to bat a bit deeper.

Arafat Minhas is the new batter for the hosts as shadows start to lengthen at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Average winning score batting first is just under the 300-mark so England are well on top as things stand.

Another weak dismissal. A very good catch in the deep from Sam Curran diving forward. There's been far too many weak dismissals from Pakistan in this innings.

Another one given away and you have to say England are well on top of this game.

    Gus Atkinson does make amends!

Although, once again, it's batter error which costs Pakistan.

Saad Baig attempts to pull the England quick through deep mid-wicket and Sam Curran scampers in to take a good catch tumbling forward.

  20. How's stat?!published at 11:04 BST 20 October

Gus Atkinson hit a good line and length with 70% of his balls in his opening five-over spell earlier - the equal highest for a new ball opening spell for England in an ODI (minimum of five overs).
