Still, Shaheen Shah Afridi is more than useful with the bat.

The tall fast bowler slams Sam Curran for back-to-back fours to end his disappointing spell of 1-40 off five overs...

Sam Curran uses his T20 skills there. He's been unpredictable. Faheem Ashraf was rushed and Will Jacks makes no mistake with the catch.

Wickets are always your friend at the end of the innings as England look to peg Pakistan back below 300.

  3. wicket

    Faheem c Jacks b Curran 39 (Pak 285-8)

Pakistan's innings is starting to fade away frustratingly.

After a great partnership, both batters fall in quick succession as Faheem Ashraf is undone by Sam Curran's slower ball. He miscues the pull shot to Will Jacks at deep mid-wicket and departs for an entertaining 39 off 26 balls.

The change of angle worked for Sonny Baker. And because Minhas was off balance he could only toe it in the air.

It's a very good innings from him and it's brought Pakistan back in the game.

    Good response from Baker.

Arafat tries to slog one too many, and skies a simple catch to Harry Brook at cover. That wicket puts a dent in Pakistan's hopes of reaching 300.

This is a fantastic knock from Arafat Minhas. This is getting to a defendable total for Pakistan.

Minhas is seeing the ball excellently and he's hitting the ball anywhere due to the bowling from Sonny Baker.

They could make 310/315 now and with the new ball bowlers they have they could make it really difficult for the England batters.

    Three boundaries in a row!

Sonny Baker is under the pump here.

A fine half-century for Minhas Arafat, from 54 balls, after he thrashes Sonny Baker for four through the covers.

    An excellent partnership continues.

Ben Duckett got too close. They did the right thing and it's exceptional fielding by Tom Banton.

  11. Pak 271-6published at 47 overs

A dramatic end to Sam Curran's over.

Arafat launches it down the ground, and the ball looks certain to be flying over the ropes for six. But Tom Banton steadies himself on the boundary, scoops it over his shoulder but it's wide of Ben Duckett, who was running in to meet him for the relay catch.

Jordan Cox nearly took a blinder! He was running behind himself and was swerving as the ball was swirling in the air but couldn't hold onto it with one hand.

  13. dropped catch

Arafat dropped on 42published at 46.4 overs

Ah, that would've been a screamer from Jordan Cox!

A top edge swirls in the air and he sprints backwards, slides on his knees and sticks one glove out but it spills as he hits the turf.

Must be something to do with the short sleeves...

The Root experiment doesn't quite work.

    12 off the over.

  15. 6 runs

    Pak 258-6published at 45.2 overs

In a surprise move, Joe Root takes the ball - and he's launched down the ground for six!

  16. Pak 251-6published at 45 overs

Sonny Baker closes out the over well after that boundary, conceding just singles.

Five overs to go as Pakistan aim to get as close to 300 as possible.

  17. Pak 246-6published at 44.1 overs

    Harry BrookImage source, Reuters

Ooh, he almost strikes first ball!

Arafat Minhas slogs the ball high in the air, and it swirls for an age above Harry Brook at deep cover. Brook sprints back, dives, but can't get a hand to it and the ball trickles away for four.

Pakistan are attacking on the first ball of each over. It's something I've noticed in particular against Rashid today. But he hasn't been at his best today, he hasn't been consistent.

  20. Pak 242-6published at 44 overs

This is turning into a very handy little cameo from Faheem.

He's happy to take on the spinners, whacking another two fours down the ground to start Adil Rashid's over and moves to 25 off just 16 balls.
